    Logistics of Overtime:

If the losing team has a player in the crystal by the end of the 5 minute timer of the match, the game will procede to overtime until there are no more losing team members in the crystal.

Your teams progress is always indicated in blue.
Your teams checkpoint progress is always located on the enemies side of the scoreboard. It is very easy to confuse your teams checkpoint progress for the enemy teams checkpoint progress because of this (Great design SquareEnix).

What this means for winning the game:

    1. If your team has more progress than the enemy team at the start of overtime, your team is the winning team and does not need to be in the crystal at all times. Your team can safely leave the crystal, regroup and return to battle so long as the enemy team does not push the crystal progress .1% beyond your teams furthest progress.

If your team is the losing team, your team will lose the game once there are no more team members in the crystal.

    2. If your team has reached the 50% check point BEFORE overtime while the enemy team has not yet reached the 50% checkpoint, you are the winning team. If the enemy pushes the crystal to the 50% check point during overtime, your team still does not need to be in the crystal and may safely regroup without losing the game. The enemy team must completely clear the 50% checkpoint AND push progress to 50.1% to win the game.

If you are the losing team, pushing the crystal to 50% and leaving the crystal will lose you the game. A member must remain in the crystal until progress has reached 50.1%. In this scenario, the game will end while both teams have 50% progress, and you will lose the game because your team failed to surpass the enemy teams progress during your overtime.

    3. If both teams have reached the 50% progress before overtime starts, both teams are considered the winning team. Meaning that either team can leave the crystal during overtime and the game will not end. The winner of the game is determined by the first team to reach 50.1%. This means that if you push the progress to 50% and clear the checkpoint but wipe before you could push 50.1%, the game will carry on and the opposing team must now also clear checkpoint, and break 50.1%.

Important to note that both teams can push 50% and clear the checkpoint in this scenario and the game will continue on even if no member from either party is in the crystal. The game will only end when either team pushes the crystal to 50.1%. Theoretically the game can continue in overtime for an unlimited amount of time until one team gets too tired to play or gives up (although the longest match I have experienced was 33 minutes).

    Some strategies

    1. It is to your advantage to get the crystal to at least 50% before overtime starts. This is because, as above, the enemy team is at a severe handicap if the game procedes into overtime while they are not yet at 50% as they need to always be on the opposite side of the map and inside the crystal.

    2. It is also your advantage if you can prevent the enemy team from getting to 50% before overtime. If both teams get to 50% then you are setting up for a very long overtime match where you have allowed the enemy team the leisure of not having to be in the crystal at all times on the opposite side of their map.

    3. You can push the crystal to 50% and immediately fall back and regroup.

Clearing the checkpoint gives the enemy team a turbo. If they also reach 50% check point, their checkpoint clear progress will turbo clear and the crystal will then also move at turbo speed. In this scenario, your team could potentially be dominating the entire game then wipe ONCE, and, because of turbo boosted crystal, the enemy team can turbo push past your furthest progress and win before your team can revive (very dumb).

Falling back to regroup at 50% without clearing the check point sets your team up for the single goal of just not letting the enemy team reach 50%. If they cant reach 50% you automatically win, if they do reach 50% the game is still a draw and the enemy does not get a turbo checkpoint clear, or a turbo speed crystal movement behond 50%.

I think the loosing team can be out of the crystal for up to 3 seconds(?) before it registers as a loss

Will put you on ignore if you can't form a logical argument but argue nonetheless
