Love it when people are finally waking up to Endwalker being a terrible expansion, and not just a terrible expansion but the continuation of a terrible design ethos in this game starting from Stormblood.

Also, Bozja had a far better story than EW Relic lol, so it's not even decent as a "story-based" relic.

Truth is the players are also disliking it. Here is an extrapolation from the Steam Player base.

It is true that FFXIV has never been more popular than now, however, if we look at trends this particular expansion has a much more violent quit rate than any that comes before it. So while people heard good things about XIV and trying, they are not liking it at the same rate people have in previous expansions. In turn I feel previous expansions have done a much better job of retaining players.

So the current player count almost equals the max player count of some expansions (on steam) and yet the players are disliking it because the player spike is higher for Endwalker? So hypothetically, if steam count hit 10,000,000 and then dropped to 1,000,000, that would be a massive drop, would you still say that the drop is all that matters?

That is what remains to be seen. We do not know if 7.0 will exceed the population of EW which was riding high on huge PR and passive marketing from the WOW Exodus, and so that would mean for the first time the game did not grow. I surely hope we didn't peak at end of SHB and beginning of EW.

But it is clear more people are quitting the game than ever as well. The only point im making is that the expansion itself did not retain as many players from the initial release as the previous ones did from a percentage perspective.

Let's not forget that when the expansion launched there were issues with...basic mathematics. Summoners losing dps during Phoenix phase, one of WHM's spells upgrading into a damage downgrade, etc.

FFXVI better be worth everything that FFXIV players have gone through.
