It's funny how when an influencer is mindlessly praising the game they're wielded as a bludgeon to dismiss critical feedback and yet when an influencer is expressing concern regarding the state of the game as an actual game suddenly their opinion is treated as irrelevant.
I can't stand streamers. I think they're one of the worst things to happen to gaming - but that aside, her concerns are very valid and shared by many here.

I'm seen people here consider her and others such as Mr happy shills and paid by SE so they only have positive things to say.
Now their opnions are "valid" and shared by "many."

They are kind of shills. Shill is a little harsh though, they are promoter/ambassadors. I think some online games actually pay streamers to do this. I remember reading a few articles about it. In the past Mr Happy has gotten special access hasn't he? So for them to turn on FF14 is not a good sign. It is in their best interest to keep their mouth shut and move on. I don't begrudge them promoting the game in a positive light. I will read negative reviews on steam and see if those things might bother me. If nothing is a real red flag then I read a few positive and try the game.
^ This. The only FFXIV streamer I can stand is Xenosys Vex, and even then I only watch his clips, I don't think I could actually watch a full stream. That being said, Zepla's concerns are indeed valid, regardless of whether or not she's a streamer.
However, it does feel like streamers are only expressing these concerns now that it isn't unpopular to do.

I can't stand any FFXIV content creator, none of them are entertaining to me (from what little I have seen). But yes, valid concerns are valid concerns, regardless of the source.^ This. I don't disagree, previously they would have been cancelled by the community for criticism, as far as I remember.![]()

I don't mind them until they start behaving like they're some kind of blessing in this game. There are many of them and honestly, it's so cringe to watch. It's funny how when an influencer is mindlessly praising the game they're wielded as a bludgeon to dismiss critical feedback and yet when an influencer is expressing concern regarding the state of the game as an actual game suddenly their opinion is treated as irrelevant.

NEWS FLASH - While their video views/popularity is decent, they are so contemptibly small compared to the actual player base of the game. Majority of the people I know in the game don't even watch content creators.
This. Like I might agree with some of what she's saying, but she's still a well known streamer that doesn't actually speak for the entire playerbase.
Hey, I agree - people like MrHappy and Zepla do not speak for the entire playerbase. However, there's a problem with that line of thinking when they are the people within the "community" who have direct access to Yoshida to share their general feedback with the community and ask questions or interview him. You can go on both of their channels and see that they were both invited to the Endwalker media tours and both have had direct 1 on 1 interviews with Yoshida where they asked questions about the game, changes, concerns, etc and have had this kind of access to and rapport with Yoshida directly for years now.
So while it's easy to say "they don't represent the entire playerbase" because that is true, you should also take into consideration that the development team sees them as a face to the western communities and a good enough litmus of things that they have continually kept up with them. I even recall an interview where Yoshi-P said to Mr. Happy that he watches Mr. Happy's videos (whether or not this is true or just trying to make Mr. Happy feel good is anyone's guess, personally speaking I doubt he actually does since he's likely way too busy) so for all intents and purposes if MrHappy or Zepla is saying something, it is more likely that SE will pay attention and take note of it than they will for AngryGamer79 or PleasedPlayer61 on the forums for both sides of feedback.
This, ladies and gents, is what a well adjusted adult opinion looks like.
EDIT:
Nah, not really, though it might be the most scathing at the time.
Someone once asked him if we could go back to pre-SB and he said no, and I quote "Gordias almost killed the game a SECOND time."
