Getting back to Bozja again, I think it was the only time I actually had fun with FATEs aside from a few Endwalker Special FATEs, but the problem with those is the near endless amount of players that kind of curbstomp the whole challenge behind them (like I think they're suppose to be hard, but clearly just cheesing the whole thing is enough to make it pointless).
Only it wasnt future proofed, that endless amount of players are gone, you are alone out there more often than not, the BIGGEST problem with exploratory zones are their short shelf life...which is, I am surmising, why they didnt go that route this time.

The fact that they weren't future proofed is entirely on the shoulders of Yoshi-P. If he was actually in tune with feedback from the community and/or the game had a public test server then such issues would be identified well in advance and the game could be tweaked accordingly.

I'm pretty sure the reason we didn't get an exploration zone in Endwalker is entirely related to the fact that Yoshi-P is distracted by FFXVI. It remains to be seen how things fare once FFXVI finally releases. Though if Yoshi-P knew that 6.0 was going to coincide with a lull in content development then that just makes his decision to rush to the finale all the more bizarre.

Because project managers / directors cant multitask. Yes they can. Sorry, no.

How do you know it was "rushed'? You DO realise that expacs are YEARS in the planning, that it isnt done in a few months? Work on the next expac has been underway Id say at least a year if not more before Endwalker launched. They dont wait until one year in to start organising the next one, the new expac has more than likely been on the boards since 2020.

No MMO designer works "on design by committee"..hell look at this forum, each and every person has their own ideas, theres no cohesion, no consensus, when you do x and someone says no I want you to do "y"..so who do you listen to?

    That way lies insanity.

This is what confuses me, what feedback is he even reading? I asked this in another topic regarding this, and I'm confused to what kind of players he talks with that led FFXIV to be what it is right now. I can't seem to find this feedback either.

More than this Englsh forum, thats for certain. He gets multiple sources, many of which we know nothing of. This game is GLOBAL, remember? The comments mentioned here may very well NOT resonate with international playerbases...so he has access to far more than we do.

What does he get in feedback and from where? Ill utter the words a lot of you wont use.

    I. dont. know.

I honestly attribute a lot of what's going on to stuff outside of Yoshida's and CBU III paygrade. True directors/project managers can multi task but you still have a limited number of personnel to work on said projects and now Yoshida has alllll of this pressure on him to perform and if FF 16 doesn't blow the socks off of everyone who's going to be the one holding the bag.

I honestly like Yoshida and hope 16 does well but the dude might need some well earned break time but he and CBU III got to roll right into continued development of 7.0 and DQ X offline expansion.

Active characters are higher than in July of 2021 when the streaming thing happened and have remained relatively stable since June 2022.

In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

And post bug fixes and patches, DLC, and eventually down the line Xbox and PC compatibility. There done with the base game but development never ends. Recent games should be proof enough.
