Restrictions are stupid period.
Tanks have myriads of "cloth" options (bikinis) to wear and still be effective but healers are always relegated to robes.
Realism takes a back seat when we can create fire from our fingertips and teleport at will.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
Neat glam, OP! I can easily see an Alchemist dressing like such, and really it looks like you walked straight out of Full Metal Alchemist. Kudos to you~ ◕‿↼Specifically DoH gear. While I have supported restrictions on gear in the past, especially for job and gender specific attire, my grip has loosened a bit for DoH gear and this is why:
=============
- From my observations, very few players actually allocate glamour plates to DoH classes and this leads to these absolutely lovely designs being largely unused.
- Players would probably use them more if more glamour plates were available, but this is not the case right now.
- I respect development time, and feel it should go towards what players will benefit from. Since time does go into designing DoH specific gear per class every expansion, but not a lot of players use them. I would rather the dev team either do away with it entirely in favor of more available glamour choices/hairstyles, or make these outfits available for all classes so they can be enjoyed by more players when designing their glamour plates for other jobs.
Hopefully this shows that views can change over time. Even mine. It isn't very broad in this case, but even a little can go a long way. I really like how some of these look on combat classes. Here is the Boltsoph's Swallowtail on my SCH. I really love the look!
Edit: Oh yeah I forgot to contribute to the thread, on-topic like lol
I agree with all the views contained therein
My major issue with DOH is that so many classes and up sharing a lot of the same gear. It's easier to manage between archetypes of combat jobs with only 2-4, but all my DOH's wear the same thing and it's a bit annoying to have to have so many plates as I change around.
