The Next Housing District

Historically, housing districts are associated with each expansion's 'starting' hub city. Each starting hub shares two major common elements : Market Boards and Inns.

• ARR : Limsa/Gridania/Ul'dah
• HW : Ishgard
• SB : Kugane
• ShB : Crystarium
• EW : Old Sharlayan

In contrast, each expansion's 'endgame' hub city/settlement lacks both Market Boards and Inns, but they DO have the tomestone vendors for that expansion.

• ARR : Mor Dhona
• HW : Idyllshire
• SB : Rhalgar's Reach
• ShB : Eulmore
• EW : Radz at Han

So, following the pattern the next logical housing districts are Crystarium and Old Sharlayan, then whatever 7.0's starting hub city ends up being (My bet's on it being in Corvos/Locus Amoenus).

The only main city left without a housing district is Radz at Han.
They'll never make housing districts in Old Sharlayan and the Crystarium for lore reasons.

The same could have ben said for the housing districts of Ishgard and Kugane, neither of which were available at the start of their respective expansions. If they want to attach housing districts to the Crystarium or Old Sharlayan, they'll write a justification into the lore (and we might even get some new content out of the deal like we did with Ishgard Restoration).

I did go look at Old Sharlayan tonight, and there is space though… to the North and East sides of the map, there are trails going up the hill and around the side, blocked by gates you can’t pass through. Lore-wise, without going into spoilers, I think after the EW MSQ, they’re a little more open to outsiders than they were originally.

If they do make it there though, I really hope they keep in the trees, the rocks, the waterfalls and little ponds. If it’s all just the marble around the center of town, personally it won’t hold any appeal for me.

I am so tired of not having a house, Ive made alt characters and even made my own FC in an attempt to put multiple bids in and for the time this bid system has been in place I have never owned a home and am tired of saving my gil for something that won't happen.

That would be great if they'd add new housing districts to the game. It would help out a lot. I've been trying to get a large plot on my server for my FC but no luck. The other day there was one plot on Shirogane available and we were 91 bidders. They should also change the availability to both FC and Privatte, and also let only one person per FC to be able to bid for a plot.

From Heavensward there is 1 district
* The Empyreum (Ishgard)

From Stormblood there is 1 district
* Shirogane (Kugane)

From Shadowbringer there are 0 districts
* Crystarium possible

* Eulmore possible

From Endwalker there are 0 districts
* Old Sharlayan possible

* Radz at han possible

From Dawntrail there are 0 districts
* Tuliyollal possible

* Solution 9 possible

I think it would help out a lot with the housing problem if each expantion would have a housing district. Don't think it will ever happen though. ;.;

I'd actually like to see them use Smileton as an instanced housing hub for players who've completed the first story arc of FFXIV by finishing Endwalker.

I recently wandered through the Dravanian Hinterlands (the area outside of Idyllshire) and thought this could be a nice area to consider for a housing district. I know a lot of people who would like Old Sharlayan, but how about New Sharlayan? lol might need a better name…

We could have another restoration phase similar to Firmament where we help the goblins and friends rebuild Idyllshire and the surrounding areas. There’s plenty of space off to the sides and back of Idyllshire that this could be accomplished.

But it has evergreen trees, lakes, waterfalls and streams, big rocks… it could be a more wilderness-style Lavender Beds, and we could get Sharlayan style architecture, housing items, those cool blue stone roads…

We already have 3 mostly stone/marble residential districts… Lavender Beds and Shiro are the ones that really have any natural beauty feel, so let’s balance it out with a third! Just look at this place! I’m sure some wonderful plots could be created…

The Hinterlands are my fave area in the game, I would relocate to New Sharlayan in a heartbeat if they released housing there. I probably wouldn't mind Old Sharlayan either, and I know plenty who would like to rebuild Garlemald and get some housing there too.

But Old Sharlayan/Idyllshire first please.

Took some pictures in Old Sharlayan… it was cloudy unfortunately, but these are the kind of features I would hope to see in a residential district. If done right, it might even be good enough to outdo LB for me. lol

Frankly though, I love my Goblet spot.
