    Inspiration….

    Hey fellow WoL’s,

    I have a quick question. During the last live letter Yoshi briefly went over what Final Fantasy games they are taking inspiration from for 7.0. Can anyone tell me which they were?

    I could of sworn I screen shot it but I guess I didn’t. If any of you have the info please let me know in the comments. A screenshot will be even better. Thank you.

    I don't remember anything about that since the live letter wasn't about 7.0, but I was only getting a translation.

    In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
    "We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

    Hey,

    I don’t technically think they said 7.0 specifically but i do remember them saying they taking inspiration from certain final fantasy games in the near future or something like that.

    They might have meant for 6.5 then. They have already been taking inspiration from FF4 since all these bosses and other things in Endwalker are from FF4.

    ARR from the beginning has referenced or taken inspiration from every FF game since the beginning by Yoshi's outright statement, so EW continues that. But as Jeeqbit said above, it's FFIV that EW has drawn much of it's references from, and a lesser extent FFVIII and XI.

    But yeah, every FF game has been given a reference at one point or another (including some really obscure entries in the series, like FF Unlimited), so I expect this to continue.
