Player choice: Choices that actually affect the story.
Overworld: Stronger enemies. I never feel in danger or have to be strategic. Also the overworld is very bland and empty. Fates/events should reflect the issue at hand. IE maybe sometimes Camp Broken Glass gets taken over by a fate of attacking garleans and big bad NMs show up as a result of a fate chain.
Housing: Characters that you've interacted with visit/show up at your house.
Questing: Like a player being able to choose what characters to take into a solo dungeon, it would be nice if maybe while questing I could have a favourite character alongside with me instead of a chocobo that I never use.
Mechanics: Creativity > 1 hit KO if you blink.
