All we can hope is that they will fix those rewards. It's such a shame that good content died because they expected that people will be happy to run content just for the hell of it. On the flipside, I haven't see many people claiming that "content needs no rewards" since V&C released.

I don't necessarily think rewards would make me enjoy running Variant dungeons any more, but it would have been better the Manderville weapons asking us to do that than just be like buying it from the market board.

I don't think the Criterion dungeon lacks rewards because it has a mount, but it could be more worthwhile to raiders who are progging savage by dropping tomestone augments. As it is now, you can put it off and do it later, just like ultimates, because both sync to the tier.

Because their 'majority' is meant to be a convenient cudgel used to silence dissenters, and nothing more. That's why the only response I usually give to people like Striker who repeat that same tired line ad nauseam is to laugh at them. It's funny and sad at the same time, although it's been leaning towards the latter more and more as time goes on.

I try my best to be a little more polite than that, I may just ignore them from now on to be quite honest. It's the best outcome for all, I should think.

Wow. I believe I have an answer that will solve all the complaints about Variant/Criterion dungeons not providing incentives to play them. Drop single Tome of Relic-ness at the end of each run. There you have it, the next thing you'll need to collect (1500? 750? 10?) to advance your Relic Weapon.

The lack of any new exploratory zones is a bitter blow, to be honest. FFXIV already has some of the most linear dungeons in existence and has reduced the number of them from three to two to one over time. WoW and ESO, meanwhile, flesh out the game world quite often with new zones of varying sizes with a decent amount of things to do and see within them.

I'm very much in favour of the classic fantasy game approach that is 'pick a direction and run'. FFXIV could easily embrace that, especially since we're supposedly returning to the role of an adventurer and yet...there's so little to do and see. Especially when you're all caught up with the MSQ's. Which in itself increasingly consists of watching NPC's emote at each other with repetition and speak in numerous sentences what could easily be conveyed in one.

No one has silenced any dissent, in any way shape or form. What you refuse to acknowledge is the simple fact that this forum is a tiny band of malcontents.."but muh majoriteh"..do the math, mate. Maybe 100 posters here vs the millions that dont post here, and who are ingame enjoying themselves.

I'm glad more people are catching on that ignoring/blacklisting the usual culprits is the best way to go. They're not here to have a logical conversation with you. They're just here to be argumentative and to piss you off because you dared to say something negative about the game. Remember these types of folks take criticism of the game as a personal insult, and they will argue with you and disparage you out of revenge for criticizing something they're so heavily invested in. Some of these individuals I've had on blacklist since last year, and my official forum experience has drastically improved because of it.
