I'm very much in favour of the classic fantasy game approach that is 'pick a direction and run'. FFXIV could easily embrace that, especially since we're supposedly returning to the role of an adventurer and yet...there's so little to do and see. Especially when you're all caught up with the MSQ's. Which in itself increasingly consists of watching NPC's emote at each other with repetition and speak in numerous sentences what could easily be conveyed in one.
The time to depower the WoL back to adventurer status should have come no later than 6.0's ending...and yet here we are about to take on one of the most powerful voidsent currently active. Our "exploration" is just back tracking through dungeons for the most part or the town in the Void we can no longer get back to. It all feels more like I'm sitting through somebody's oc's power fantasy rather than a decent story.
