oh no! data mining! the horrorsWho gives a damn about that person? It is just another person with a mic.. and often caught data mining like that Meow whatever guy is named, when telling news of FFXIV....
To restore confidence in the game, try and find some other MMO that you might like playing and come back here again.
I don't think Streamers is there for any good, you should rather be playing the game than giving them ANY views at all.
That alone will make you know if you want to actually play the game or not no matter what positive or negative things a clown with a mic tells you to do, and often only influenced by own degraded views rather as of the games as in whole.
Expected more lukewarm take from her. I was pleasantly surprised that she admits that tome dump isn't very exciting and that "just take a break" isn't solution.Excellent news! Zepla has returned from her long hiatus in the world of Genshin Impact to comment on the state of FFXIV. Hopefully if not us the people SE has hired for its "Influencer Relations" can take in her feedback.
What sticked out from me was the comment from chatter: "this expansion been very safe while being experimental"
V&C was great new thing - but it didn't even provide savage equivalent rewards, new reward system or any meaningful rewards for that matter. This single problem caused whole content to die in a week.
Savage loot got some small book nerfs - but it's still locked until .18/.38 without any core changes, even though we have 19 jobs at this point.
No changes in AR, dungeon, or trial formulas
IS is something brand new - but it's nearly completely disconnected from the rest of the game, alongside other problems with it's design
EO is, well, a DD, nothing new or experimental here
But the best experiment was lack of exploratory zone. Hopefully result of this experiment will be that every single expansion from now on will have strong focus on them.
The game needs a rehaul. As far as I'm concerned, it's done. I've been giving feedback for years, spent years waiting for healers to be interesting, crafting to be worthwhile, rewarding content with replay value, real dungeons. There comes a time where you have to realize the developers are not interested in making that sort of game and to do what many posters have advised, "If you don't like it, quit", instead of living on hopium and burning free time you could be spending on something fun.
In a few days I'll lose forum access and my voice will fade. Many others have too. If you're a long time forum user and think about it, you might realize a lot of the names you saw posting regularly long term aren't here anymore. Meanwhile the same few will parrot about how the people who are happy with the game are playing the game. Well, the people who are unhappy with the game are gone. You can't see them or count them, but for every complainer there are far more silent leavers.
I'm gone gone. I've handed an entire gil cap to my FC and my house is demolished.
I moved to WoW and as much of a mess that game is, as buggy and flawed ...I'm having fun again. I think people live so stuck in their bubble of "WoW's toxic and sucks, FF's great" that they really only hinder themselves. It's not really toxic, it's filled with normal down to earth human beings, some grumpy, some no-lifers, lots friendly and helpful. It's nice having real dungeons, proper raids and being able to load an addon or discuss normal gamer topics like dps, gear or stats without a dev slapping you on the wrist, trying to wrap you in bubblewrap and playing parent.
It's honestly sort of sad looking back at these forums from time to time and seeing how low expectations have dropped. People who are fine with Island Sanctuary or grind 1500 tomes for a relic or think Criterion is actually a dungeon, or "they'll fix AST in 7.0 ...maybe!". Or watching them add outfit after poorly made outfit to the cash shop and people lap it up like a cheap F2P. Or being excited for 4 bosses in an arena as a full raid tier. Or the best healers getting is one SCH fairy skin. Or the fact no one even cares about the MSQ anymore but just defend it as "it's ok" even though their excitement for it barely exists. It's like mild depression in here and players are in coping mode and plodding along.
Anyway, grumble aside, I've had some great memories here and met some wonderful people too. There's a reason I've tried to give feedback for so long. FFXIV really had potential and I don't regret my time playing. But it's time to move on. If you're clinging to hope, ask yourself how long you've been hoping for without seeing a change or any sign you'll get one.
Have fun in WoW!

And yeah, it's funny the FF14 community will keep complaining about a vocal minority complaining about the game... when they are the minority. Because the majority already moved on to other games lol
Although I didn't know you directly, I always enjoyed reading your posts. Your feedback always came across as polite, well reasoned and fair. I've also returned to WoW - being able to actually go back to playing a game that allows me to tame beasts and stumble across treasure is so refreshing. I would like FFXIV to improve but at this point it seems to have doubled down on pandering solely to 'influencers' and 'venue goers' at the cost of everybody else.Anyway, grumble aside, I've had some great memories here and met some wonderful people too. At this point, the game needs another 1.0 moment to truly get the development team and executives to wake up.
I agree with everything you mentioned, hope you have fun in WoW, it's actually been one of my biggest issues with FFXIV's raids, they just.. dont feel like raids. I dont count being put in a tiny square room right from the get go after queuing up a raid, to me that's a trial
See you in Azeroth, my good man. May many dragons fall before you.

One thing they can do that would restore my confidence? redeem the Ancients and give them the respect they deserved! Allow us to befriend that remainder of the sundered Ascians, allow us to learn more about their world from them so we can begin to shape our world in that image.
Excellent news! The FFXVI media tour is now over. Hopefully now the focus can return to FFXIV.

Yep, see you in Azeroth Liam. I'm glad you've discovered your path anew.
Sir, this is a Dragonflight. You were meant to rescue the Red Flight's clutch, not destroy them! Bring balance to the Shadowlands, not leave it in the Maw! You were my brother, Absimiliard. I lov-
.....Naaaaaaaah that's too much melodrama and theatre for today already.
Eeesh, ouch they murdered this man.
