The game needs a rehaul. As far as I'm concerned, it's done. I've been giving feedback for years, spent years waiting for healers to be interesting, crafting to be worthwhile, rewarding content with replay value, real dungeons. There comes a time where you have to realize the developers are not interested in making that sort of game and to do what many posters have advised, "If you don't like it, quit", instead of living on hopium and burning free time you could be spending on something fun.

In a few days I'll lose forum access and my voice will fade. Many others have too. If you're a long time forum user and think about it, you might realize a lot of the names you saw posting regularly long term aren't here anymore. Meanwhile the same few will parrot about how the people who are happy with the game are playing the game. Well, the people who are unhappy with the game are gone. You can't see them or count them, but for every complainer there are far more silent leavers.

I'm gone gone. I've handed an entire gil cap to my FC and my house is demolished.
I moved to WoW and as much of a mess that game is, as buggy and flawed ...I'm having fun again. I think people live so stuck in their bubble of "WoW's toxic and sucks, FF's great" that they really only hinder themselves. It's not really toxic, it's filled with normal down to earth human beings, some grumpy, some no-lifers, lots friendly and helpful. It's nice having real dungeons, proper raids and being able to load an addon or discuss normal gamer topics like dps, gear or stats without a dev slapping you on the wrist, trying to wrap you in bubblewrap and playing parent.

It's honestly sort of sad looking back at these forums from time to time and seeing how low expectations have dropped. People who are fine with Island Sanctuary or grind 1500 tomes for a relic or think Criterion is actually a dungeon, or "they'll fix AST in 7.0 ...maybe!". Or watching them add outfit after poorly made outfit to the cash shop and people lap it up like a cheap F2P. Or being excited for 4 bosses in an arena as a full raid tier. Or the best healers getting is one SCH fairy skin. Or the fact no one even cares about the MSQ anymore but just defend it as "it's ok" even though their excitement for it barely exists. It's like mild depression in here and players are in coping mode and plodding along.

Anyway, grumble aside, I've had some great memories here and met some wonderful people too. There's a reason I've tried to give feedback for so long. FFXIV really had potential and I don't regret my time playing. But it's time to move on. If you're clinging to hope, ask yourself how long you've been hoping for without seeing a change or any sign you'll get one.

    Have fun in WoW!

And yeah, it's funny the FF14 community will keep complaining about a vocal minority complaining about the game... when they are the minority. Because the majority already moved on to other games lol

Except, of course, that they're not. FC's are filled, queues pop even for odd raids at all hours of the day. It is indeed a vocal minority of pathetically bitter people here on the forums that are complaining because they can't stand that other people are having fun playing the game. This forum was less of a cesspool when a certain few people took some time off (ironically, for all they claim to hate the game, they...apparently resubbed and are actively playing again...).

For 10 points: how to say you are not playing on Materia without saying you're not on Materia

Will put you on ignore if you can't form a logical argument but argue nonetheless

It's my general understanding that people are still struggling to queue into the latest story trial for Mt. Ordeals and all alliance raids except Crystal Tower across all datacenters. With how lacklustre the moogle rewards are for this patch, I doubt its doing too much to push people to do the NieR raids either.

That's funny, I have no problem getting the new Alliance raids to pop at all any day of the week. Granted I also play during prime time on Crystal, but that would throw your argument out completely just by itself. As another said, unfortunately the NM of a story trial always ends up being hard to get a group for towards the end of a patch cycle. There's no rewards and no reason for people to go back to it aside from getting it in their roulettes.

As for any Alliance Raids other than the new ones, well that has also always been a problem. Too many people cheat the system to make sure they only get the CT raids from the roulette, on top of the people who only have the CT raids unlocked, ends up resulting in everyone just getting the CT raids. There isn't much SE can do about this except maybe making unlocking all Alliance Raids a requirement and calculating your ilvl based off the highest ilvl gear you have in your inventory for the job you are queuing with. Unfortunately, this could be abused by tossing it onto Retainers since those storages are only active when queried.

Although I didn't know you directly, I always enjoyed reading your posts. Your feedback always came across as polite, well reasoned and fair. I've also returned to WoW - being able to actually go back to playing a game that allows me to tame beasts and stumble across treasure is so refreshing. I would like FFXIV to improve but at this point it seems to have doubled down on pandering solely to 'influencers' and 'venue goers' at the cost of everybody else.

At this point, the game needs another 1.0 moment to truly get the development team and executives to wake up.
