I haven't lost confidence so nothing to restore on my end. But curious to see what other people find wrong with it.

In regards to content, one thing i've noticed is they like to make content from scratch and then drop it like its hot. Its no wonder they cant produce enough fulfilling content for the masses as they always start from square one. The Diadem got one update outside of its expansion and no updates to re-focus it into something enjoyable. Eureka was dropped after Stormblood, Bozja/Zadnor after Shb, and IS and Criterion will get the same treatment come end of EW given their pattern. Instead of working to improve and add-on to these existing systems of gameplay, they just throw their hands up in the air and go back to the beginning. What does that result in? Unpolished and lacking gameplay elements that only start to hit their stride towards the end of the expansion (maybe).
Or when they do fun or amazing stuff but then abandon it... Like we got the G-Warrior fight and then? Its dropped... how about an fighting simulation with it? or its own side thingy? "we got some out of control weapons too dangerous to fight on food"Eureka was dropped after Stormblood, Bozja/Zadnor after Shb, and IS and Criterion will get the same treatment come end of EW given their pattern. The amazing Zone they made for Cid's Memory of the Citadel? I dont wanna know how many hours that was for a 5-10 min quest...
We got Memoria misera Ex, but not an ex version of the final 6.0 solo trial (sure some say "f### no!" but others like me would welcome it, be it just for the weapon...
Eureka, especially anemos was beautiful... later zones and Bozja.. not so much... they lacked something. Yes its a warzone and im fine with it, yet... idk. And i still feel all the raids shouldve been put into the alliance roulett. To seperate content is always shortsighted...
I think they said they gonna do more Criterion dungeons later... but we'll see about that.
I did have a ton of fun with my wife, solving all mysteries ourselfs without any guide, but we are locked outta the harder versions due group limits, which really is a shame...
Also give us back two dungeons per patch, especially now with the longer wait between patches... having the same dungeon for more then half a year just sucks...
And dont even get me started on Blue... heck just lettin blue run wild on deep dungeons would be fun already lol.
I would just ignore the story segment since thats entirely subjective. Ive seen people love it and only here in the forums is where I see people dislike it. So pretty much par for course.
What they just really need to do to restore confidence is one simple thing. Start communicating and engaging better with your audience on all parts. This means JPN, NA, and EU.
People will be a lot more aware and possibly receptive with the direction and reasonings behind their decisions if they just talked to us directly more instead of relying on LLs. The LLs have been good but we can do better.
We should also want to have community managers engage in the forums more frequently rather than just show up say hi and then scurry into the dark depths only to delete threads and issue bans.
Just. Communicate. Better.
Thats all they need to do

This entire huge thread... The Japanese will never respect Gaijin opinions.
Never.
It really IS that simple. It is sad, but that's how it is.
Enjoy what you can. If there's not enough... you're better off moving on.
I disagree with a bit of what's mentioned in the story section but surprisingly... The rest is accurate.
Also, I really think it says something when the regular forum trolls are posting normal threads because they don't have to go out of their way to post anything unusual to create some make believe controversy.

They can start by cutting back on adding so much content that isn't battle content outside of Raids, Savage, and ults. For example give us more do to with fates, or make the overworld lively and full of danger. Give us more battle content for lvl 90, that isn't a raid. Criterion dungeons are okay but I ultimately want to feel like I'm playing an MMO because that is still part of this games identity
I can't say I've come across anything that would come across as losing faith, personally.
However, if I had to offer up any constructive criticisms, then it would simply be to have better engagement with the community, be it directly or indirectly with a middleman. I'm not saying they don't listen to feedback or anything, but their acknowledgment or lack thereof is an issue... To put it into perspective...
Not looking at feedback, and looking at feedback, yet not acknowledging/discussing it are seen as synonymous from the perspective of the players, whilst this may not necessarily be the case from the developers' perspective. Look at many of the streams of feedback, and simply just discuss it. Even if you reject it, just let people know you reject it and specify why. Communicate, that's all.
Secondly, just look at why content is or is not popular, and then either look at reworking it, or reshaping it, rather than just completely gutting or removing it. E.g., OG Diadem, Whistle While You Work (hesitant) - But I do think they could have done something better than simply just remove the system, to a degree.
Third, and finally, look at the content schedule. I don't necessarily mean this in that the extended patch cycle is a bad thing. Good work/life balance is critical, but just simply look at what content you release and when. E.g., release the relic sooner. Place the grinds more appropriately. Doing a resplendent tool grind right after the-then notoriously long grind for Hand of Creation was just out of touch. Place this sooner in the cycle, e.g., 5.1 rather than at the end of the expansion when people are least likely to engage in the first place.
