1500 tomes is based
Yeah I completely get the idea behind this for why theyre just sticking with tomestone grinds.I see their intention with this, but 1500 tomestone grinds just don't make it the sort of grind it has been in other expansions and therefore you can't consider it a "weapon you worked hard for".
When someone has an ARR relic, a Eureka relic, a Bozja relic, and to a certain extent an anima relic (which is quicker now that it's been nerfed so much but still more effort), you know just how much work that person put in to get it. All the raids, trials, dungeons and farming the person did for it, and that to get it yourself, means you have to put in that work too.
When you see that someone has a Manderville weapon, you know that they spent about 1 minute getting it. It almost doesn't make sense to not have it.
That isn't it. Obviously, they don't want to force players to do content that they don't want to do, and by making it use tomestones which come from almost all content, they allow you to get the weapon just by doing the content you're doing anyway and, presumably, enjoy doing. It's just that as I explained, it doesn't achieve nearly the same effect as previous relics.
But relics are specific grinds, none of the previous steps were necessarily hard to do (cept that one step in the ARR grind which required you to either craft a mat or buy it at a high price in MB) so it was all relatively doable content.
The idea for grinds is to keep certain content relevant and the fact that theyre just making an easy bypass with this philosophy is not the way this should be handled. This is ridiculous and honestly one of the biggest Ls I cant defend.

I Always love the buzzword minority when I see it on the forums. People throw that baseless word around so much without any evidence to back it up with.
"This group is a minority; people don't really feel that way."
Yeah they were sooo minor that SE felt the need to do something about it

Not to mention the ignored actual harm this does to real-life minorities, who are still being mistreated by the way. But sure, let's bandy the word about over disgruntled patrons on an internet forum. No respect, I swear.I Always love the buzzword minority when I see it on the forums. these relics are so bad
they are incredibly easy to make so it makes tome and Ex weapons pointless
if they are gonna be this easy they shouldn't be on par with the next raid tier weapons when they are finished
What? Dude, these things suck. There's literally zero reason to bother with them if you're willing to spring for a tomestone weapon or EX weapon. About the only people actively wielding them on anything other than alt jobs they don't care about are those who for whatever reason just refuse to engage with the part of the game that's, you know, a game.

wait 4 weeks to make a tome weapon i660 (plus do 3 24 mans for augment)
farm a EX trial for a i655 weapon
or just hand in 1500 tomes for a i660/5 weapon ( you have hildibrand done in this scenario)
which is faster
This is created on the implication that all of the said weapons are released at the exact same point in time, what nonsense.
People aren't going to not get a tome weapon, an ex-primal weapon just because there's going to be a relic that releases several months down the line that will be on part with it. People will pick those because they will be the best ones to get at the time without needing to step into, say, savage.
