People repeatedly told you, they dont want to take such a long breaks from a game they loved. You repeating that sentence over and over again, is basically "Just be happy" to a depressed person before suicide. A lot of people will not come back after a months of break and then still having nothing to do. They will leave for good. If you dont understand people's feelings, maybe you should not continue engaging in this thread.

Edit: Why people think "take a break" is a defense of the game is still extremely confusing.
It's because, historically, it's been used to try and get people to stop offering feedback altogether. You can only post on the forum if you have logged into the game within a two week period. That only happens if you have an active subscription or, like me, you're only posting temporarily due to the free login campaign.

Many people can and do take breaks, yet when they return they find the same problems persist and in their absence the people who don't take breaks have vocally demanded that the game change to their liking. Which is precisely why the game became less of an MMO and more of a weird Second Life clone over time.

Some people would also prefer not to lose their house, since it's unlikely they'll acquire a new one if they lose it. This, in turn, is due to the housing system in itself being terrible - especially when you can own multiple account bound houses in TESO and take breaks for weeks, months or even years without losing those houses.

Then there's people who still find some enjoyment from FFXIV but aren't oblivious to its problems.

Furthermore, the monthly subscription fee isn't exactly a lot of money to some people and it's ultimately their money to do with as they so choose so the concern over 'wasting money' often comes across as disingenuous.

This is a problem of player expectations and perception - not a problem with the game itself. Expecting to be entertained with new content at all times from a game (console, MMO, etc) is not reasonable.

But they dont look at forum feedback.

If this becomes the most successful relic in terms of participation then they will consider it a success. Not because it was extremely easy.

I find that is generally best to not engage with people who repeatedly tell others to quit or unsub. Of all the type of posts made in response to those of us who take issue with the current state of the game, those do not contribute helpfully to the discussion.

I'm not gonna pretend I read the rest of this thread before commenting. Just wanna leave my opinion on the subject though.
Considering the circumstances that we are in where we don't have a zone made for the relic like previous expansions, I am all for just using tomestones instead of forcing the player to do 1 specific old type of content that no one wants to do anyways. At least this gives some flexibility.
Now would I prefer to have a new grind instead? Absolutely. But in the case where it's old content, I'm ok with this.
If we could get a new zone or new content for next expansions relic, I think they should expand on how they did it with shb where you could get more than 1 way of getting it.
One thing that could be cool would be if they link it to multiple variant dungeons (if/when they add more). Criterion however is prob a bit too hard for the average player. Unless they make it so you can do the relic grind faster in criterion? Like more crystal drops per example ish.

This here. It's a common tactic used in philosophy. But from my experience trying to apply it in regular debates, it rarely goes well.

We really shouldn't have players telling each other to quit or unsub if they don't like something that has gone wrong with the game - especially when what people are asking for is entirely reasonable. A decent relic grind. Like we've had in the past.

This "I got mine" attitude some people have doesn't really have a place in good faith discussions when dealing with other players who are unhappy for valid reasons.

To be completely fair, suggesting to another player that they should unsub if they are unhappy isn't a bad suggestion, especially if the unhappy person in question doesn't find any real joy in the game anymore. However, this suggestion isn't usually meant as a well-intentioned piece of advice around here, or on any game's forum for that matter. I've seen this anywhere and everywhere, and it is almost always used to dismiss feedback rather than advise. It's nothing new, but it can be frustrating sometimes.
