    If you had a magic wand and could add three things, what would it be?

    Figured this may be a fun thread.

    1) Mythic + Content with similar rewards to savage raids.

    2) Smoking emote, one smoke version and one bubble.

    3) 8 v 8 v 8 Frontlines with the ability to queue with friends.

    You can either choose to explain why you choose your three or not. Just have fun with it go crazy.

    1) A well thought-out and well written story for the MSQ (I'd have my own biases for what it'd be about but I'll leave it vague for the sake of anyone who wouldn't want those specific topics)

    2) A better high-end gearing system

    3) More raiding content of some kind (Extreme or Savage) (I'd be willing to replace this one with "retcon most of 6.0/6.x" if that's allowed)

    1. Thief as an actual real job. I know a lot of people badger on about Ranger and Bard being consolidated into the same job, but in my opinion the case with Ninja and Thief is more egregious. Thief after all is a staple class that's been in the series since the very first FF game, yes I'm aware that in some games Ninja is its direct upgrade, but it still deserved better in XIV.

    2. I'd also like some sort of Mythic+ type content, or some sort of companion content to savage raids to make gearing more horizontal. Variety within challenging content is healthier for a game's balance. Additionally gearing just sucks because it's purely vertical stat increases and SE is too afraid to usurp savage. Hell, SE could do this right now by making criterion/criterion savage drop tome augments and put a weekly cap on it just like savage raids.

    3. Reworking the trinity similarly to how it functions in FFXI. In other words no set in stone roles to limit job design. Sure, XI does have dedicated healers and tanks like WHM and PLD, but healing and tanking aren't the only things those jobs can do.

    (1) Lost Ark/Diablo action-style combat hybridized with FF14-style combat
    - 1a: Bring back job complexity and identity, while being simple enough for casuals to pick up.
    - 1b: Give tanks the feeling of being tanky, such as being able to outright ignore mechanics for optimization purposes or just to be cool
    - 1c: Healing should either be removed or completely revamped into a support role with a DPS rotation that primarily involves buffing, utility
    - 1d: Make crowd control matter
    - 1e: Make it much more fast-paced, make every single button matter instead of just random oGCD you press on cooldown
    - 1f: Make setting up bursts require thought and preparation
    - 1g: Make most actions have directional input and actually interact with player movement far more than just gap closers, such as jumping, having an attack that is plus-shaped, charging an attack by going around a target, etc.

    (2) Involved midcore grinds that directly feed into power progression without it being necessary for anything:
    - 2a: Exploratory content that involves doh/dol and is more than fate grinds, this should be easy and chill while being unique and different each time.
    - 2b: Easier than criterion dungeon difficulty wrapped in variant dungeon design (aka not a literal straight road) with dangerous patrolling mobs, scaling in difficulty all the way up to current criterion savage
    - 2c: Island sanctuary with a depth comparable to Stardew Valley (seriously, that shit is made by a single dev) and involves doh/dol and feeds into doh/dol progression
    - 2d: Side content should boost your power level, such as through systems that unlock a third materia slot on your gear or unlock Lost action-style stuff you can use anywhere in endgame content.
    - 2e: Regular releases of large scale content with 48-man raids going from simple to Savage which rewards and requires communication and coordination, such as having dedicated people to use Perception to unearth traps, helping duelists by, for example, cutting off cords to a boss that is feeding it power to help the duelist stay alive etc., kiting adds as a tank to make sure that it stays away from everyone else.
    - 2f: Involved deep dungeons with randomly generated floors that involve verticality and have a maze-like structure, where internal progression matters. Put more than just mobs in the deep dungeon, such as pseudo-randomly generated NPC storylines (think of Hades with gods giving you boons but a bit more involved than that, such as an NPC at floor 13 needing specific materials from mobs in floor 7 and then giving you a boon if you do so). Instead of 100 floors it should be like 30 where each floor actually matters.

    (3) Bring back Feast

    Yes I'm aware this is "unrealistic" because we all have low standards for SE these days but SE can't even manage a single point and doesn't even try anymore, just look at PotD->HoH->Orthos, absolutely zero innovation or creativity.

    Out of curiosity what would that be? I personally find the MSQ story enjoyable but it does feel not very thought out at times.

    Would your story tackle more mature themes?

    Aye, a better gearing system also would be interesting, more build diversity in the form of gearing options would be fun.

    That is one aspect I miss about new MMO's the fear of the unknown. An over world with teeth would be nice.

    Yes, and a lot of the annoying 'comic relief' would be taken out as well. It'd be written much more like HW/SHB than EW.

    It probably would be focused either on Garlemald and/or the Ancients, and if I picked either, they'd be treated with a lot more respect than Endwalker gave them. Sadly there's not a huge amount left to do with Garlemald as 6.0/6.x wasted a lot of the opportunities that could have been done with that, so if I could, a lot of 6.0/6.x would be getting retconned too to both make new story writing opportunities with wasted areas and to try and repair the damage it did to the lore. If doing so would consume one of my three magic wand wishes, I'll give up my original #3 to instead retcon 6.0/6.x.

    All limitations, technical or otherwise notwithstanding...

    - The removal of side content being ingrained in story progression, and all side content accessible regardless of the level, and instead would retain entirely separate leveling systems, or something similar to deep dungeons - This would be so that exploratory content can become more mainstream regardless of story progression, and not inhibited newer players from doing content that people at 'endgame' do on a routine basis.

    - A much, much greater focus on the open-world aspect, e.g., dungeons that you access in the open world rather than being tied to a separate/dedicated instance

    - Actual, more vast zones, that would actually warrant flying. Sorry, but the zones we have currently are far, far too small to actually warrant flying in any capacity, IMO. e.g., Limsa Lower and Upper would be a single space without being separated. Same with the other city-states and zones of the same expansion/area.

    Just 3 things, eh? Well, without extremely drastic unrealistic changes (like 'Remove X job'):

    1) Glamour restrictions lifted with the exception of Artifact Sets, the only thing that actually makes sense to be restricted.

    2) 2 minute meta gone.

    3) Healers getting complexity, either with a different healing structure or with a more interesting dps rotation.
