What will happen to the items that are currently sold for Allagan tomestones of astronomy when 6.4 lands and the currency is retired.

Materials might move to poetics, but the Radiant gear will be moved to the Hunt vendor like the Moonward gear before it. The Manderville weapon upgrades will likely shift to the currently capped tomes (causality) that will become the uncapped tomes.

It's only when a new expansion comes out that the endgame tome sets convert to being sold for poetics.

Edit to add: I think they also only start selling the "improved gear versions" at the next expansion as well. Until 7.0 you'll still need to acquire the upgrade tokens for the Radiant gear once you've bought the base items.

To add to what Iscah said about relic costs likely getting changed from Astronomy to Causality:

If you have sufficient Astronomy to purchase another relic or relic upgrade, make certain you do it before 6.4 is released. The exchange rate once 6.4 is here will likely be 4 or 5 Astronomy to 1 Causality. 1500 Astronomy would only give you 300-375 Causality toward the next relic purchase/upgrade. Better to use them while they're still at full value.

If someone has nothing they wish to purchase with Astronomy before 6.4, then let them cap. What gets converted to Causality can be used to purchase the new tomestone crafting mats that will be added in 6.4. If you won't need those materials for personal use, they will be worth a lot of gil the first couple of weeks of the patch as raid statics prepare for Savage.

The mats for Indagator will be purchased with Causality but the number needed should be reduced (likely to 10 eac). The new materials for the new combat sets should get priced at 20 or 25 each.
