They already can't balance the jobs we have.

Pretty sure the "job balance" meetings go like this.

As has been said, there wont be any new races after Fem Hrothgar come out. Has been stated more than a few times.I also doubt we'll get any new races.
Devs: "We fixed our largely non-mechanics or those that had degraded to thoughtless chores to make them actual and decently engaging mechanics now. Materia, for example. And Mana. That has, both intentionally and inadvertently, made job kits far more cohesive and capable of nuance."
Those in the know: !!!
Those not in the know: ???
Sadly, the second group may well be too large for that to be any sort of compelling headline.

It's a tough one to decide. Saying there are no new jobs also works in tandem if the decision were no new skills for any job cause balance. The job balance is usually decided around the new skills and new jobs otherwise they'd have no real incentive to change what they have going on right now.Honestly, if they said No New Job this time...it would bum people out that were hoping for and discussing what would make sense and be a cool addition....
But then in that Slideshow they fade in - Job Balance and Gameplay Overhaul....Im sure that would Buzz louder then a swarm of Locust. I feel it would have the same effect of selling units, and even inspire people who left, and doubted the games Future to come back and at least check it out.
Also we kind of need new jobs cause look at all the people who complain about the lack of content right now on these forums. Excluding jobs from an expansion would only fuel that fire further.

not adding any new job would piss more people off then anything else
probably be the second coming of this forum exploding like when they didn't add male viera or those who got mad DNC wasn't a healer

I'm honestly more disappointed knowing they will inevitably add another job to the game because it's a selling point rather than actually working on the jobs we already have.
Since I joined after DRK got announced, I'm gonna have to say Reaper has been by far my favorite job reveal

Funny enough, this may not be as an unpopular opinion as it once was. Obviously in the more casual circles it will be but even then people are getting increasingly frustrated with current job designs and balance. The former is noticeably with healers, who even casual players complain are boring. Balancing this expansion has been the worst we've seen since Heavensward with several jobs actually getting locked out entirely for being completely outclassed. I can appreciate some hiccups at expansion launch but there is no excuse for the state Red Mage, Machinist, Warrior and Paladin have been in throughout the Endwalker. Nevermind jobs whose design have been woefully criticised for a long while now: Bard, Healers, Dark Knight (for being way too strong at everything).
I'd rather they audience instead of new jobs they want to give the current nineteen some much needed TLC, especially with at least two getting full reworks.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."

It's a double edge sword. They work on job balance to accommodate the new jobs. If there were no new jobs, then that would leave us with the question "Do we get any new skills?". Which also impacts balance. If we didn't get either of those, then they wouldn't change job balance at all because they'd think what we have going now is fine. It's a necessary evil to have new jobs and skills or they'd not have any incentive to change the formula of things.I'm honestly more disappointed knowing they will inevitably add another job to the game because it's a selling point rather than actually working on the jobs we already have.
