You can never have enough gil. Even people with a billion gil can still find things to buy though at that level some may question Shadey practices. If you're planning to raid week one on future patches, gear can often range anywhere between 2 - 10 mil per piece depending on wither or not you are collecting the resources yourself. Additional costs can come from materia melds. This also applies to the new set of crafter gear that comes out, again with melds. The Melds probably the most expensive part but if you're doing nearly all the work by hand then it's not nearly half as expensive. Outside of this, gil is really only for housing atm. Unless you would like to purchase various mounts, hairstyles, and other collectible goodies off the market board in which case your gil spending will stack up fast. 48mil sounds like a lot but you can actually blow it all within a day easily. A large house will generally cost you 50mil give or take. Purchasing an FC house from your local blackmarket discord could cost you anywhere between 100mil to 1billion depending on what you're buying and where. This is before furniture expenses. Then if you want to further purchase a professional decorator, this can sometimes cost more than the large plot itself depending on the artist. Ranging anywhere from 30mil to 150mil. That being before budget fees which will be whatever you paid plus double. Naturally, you can mitigate nearly everything by doing it yourself ofc. This is really just a cost/time benefit more than anything. Some statics will still offer carry services for gil. I know you can go into Party Finder and ask everyone to pass on all the Savage loot by offering 2mil per player per fight. 2 x 7 = 14mil. 14mil x 4 = 56mil to get all the Savage loot fed to you in PF. There are plenty of things you can do with your gil, you just have to experiment. I have even seen people sell Gpose screenshots from 10mil to 50mil. If nothing else you can flex your funds to your friends and watch them pester you every day to buy them things. If RP auctions are your thing, those can get really expensive as well. Even though gil may not be difficult to make, the playerbase sure likes to overcharge astronomically for things because "HAHA gil easy to make" and "What's there to use it on anyway?" mentalities. Though most of those people are probably RMTing their gil away which is why things are so lucratively expensive.
