Still kinda new to the game. I have leveled all the crafting and gathering jobs to max level and purchaed gear. I have not leveled a combat class to max level yet. How much Gil do I really need at this point? There doesnt seem to be much to spend it on if you arent going to be in a free company? I have about 48 million. I have been playing the market full time instead of playing the game. Thanks for the advice.

depends what you wanna do. do ypu wanna go for housing? there is a lot you can spend for. do you wanna collect minions or mounts? there are also a few expensiv ones. especially the gold mounts.
but yeah otherwise there is not much else for your gil to be spend on... especially as a craftermain

- Level all combat jobs to max and purchase gear for them along the way
- Buy a private house (they run up to 50m gil for a bid depending on size)
- Buy flex items (like the gil mounts or annoying grind items (Pinky, the fancy demon wings from gemstones, throne from Criterion, etc.))
- Blow it on cat girls at the club
- Regrow your stash
- Repeat steps 3-5 until you get bored or question your sanity

You can never have enough gil. Even people with a billion gil can still find things to buy though at that level some may question Shadey practices. If you're planning to raid week one on future patches, gear can often range anywhere between 2 - 10 mil per piece depending on wither or not you are collecting the resources yourself. Additional costs can come from materia melds. This also applies to the new set of crafter gear that comes out, again with melds. The Melds probably the most expensive part but if you're doing nearly all the work by hand then it's not nearly half as expensive. Outside of this, gil is really only for housing atm. Unless you would like to purchase various mounts, hairstyles, and other collectible goodies off the market board in which case your gil spending will stack up fast. 48mil sounds like a lot but you can actually blow it all within a day easily. A large house will generally cost you 50mil give or take. Purchasing an FC house from your local blackmarket discord could cost you anywhere between 100mil to 1billion depending on what you're buying and where. This is before furniture expenses. Then if you want to further purchase a professional decorator, this can sometimes cost more than the large plot itself depending on the artist. Ranging anywhere from 30mil to 150mil. That being before budget fees which will be whatever you paid plus double. Naturally, you can mitigate nearly everything by doing it yourself ofc. This is really just a cost/time benefit more than anything. Some statics will still offer carry services for gil. I know you can go into Party Finder and ask everyone to pass on all the Savage loot by offering 2mil per player per fight. 2 x 7 = 14mil. 14mil x 4 = 56mil to get all the Savage loot fed to you in PF. There are plenty of things you can do with your gil, you just have to experiment. I have even seen people sell Gpose screenshots from 10mil to 50mil. If nothing else you can flex your funds to your friends and watch them pester you every day to buy them things. If RP auctions are your thing, those can get really expensive as well. Even though gil may not be difficult to make, the playerbase sure likes to overcharge astronomically for things because "HAHA gil easy to make" and "What's there to use it on anyway?" mentalities. Though most of those people are probably RMTing their gil away which is why things are so lucratively expensive.

Gil is generally not important in FFXIV.

You need gil for teleports, airship and chocobo rides, and equipment repairs. And that's about all you need it for.

You may want to spend some gil on crafted combat gear rather than running dungeons and raids for gear.

A house will cost a bunch, but that is quite optional.
