this game needs a raid interface (RI) before that kind of open world stuff happens imo. maximum of 4 parties of 8 people each should suffice.
Ironic that you have a signature with the words "Pluggin your ears won't change the truth", I have been playing FFXIV since beta and not had the DC issue before so how is it all of a sudden hardware related ?Alot don't have this issue, I know I don't. The only time I've ever crashed in XIV post Alpha/Beta was zoning into Ul'dah during peak and it crashes trying to load people, however it has been proven it is indeed related to your PC setup, since even if someone feels they have a great computer for this, a lot of issues are still hardware related.
While XIV is still largely unoptimized, I noticed playing this on my laptop it takes quite a bit of time to load on start on/zoning, but on my PC it's no more than a 5 seconds at worst, so graphical lag is still the main d/c culprit since it freaks DirectX out.
It only started happening since 1.22 for me.
Looks like choco escort is going to be really, really crowded.

It's my understanding that that kind of interface is gonna be in 2.0, which is when the open world primal stuff will happen.
Also, maybe I'm reading it wrong, but it sounded to me like the primal summoning would affect the entire server, not just the company that summons it. Also, anyone and everyone will hack away at the open-world primals, and it's gonna take several hours to bring them down. Something like the Twinkling Treant event from the first days of FFXI, if you remember that far back.
I could be mistaken...
24 man stuff sounded more specifically for the Crystal tower, can't anyone just turn up and zerg on an open world monster at the moment ?, given the claim system.
I'm sure alliance will be handy in such encounters but unless they change the claim system you could just turn up with 100 people and kill it.
I missed the area where they discussed it, sorry ^^
altho, i just thought about it again, and an RI might not be a great idea for these events. it gives a strong advantage to larger groups instead of rewarding stronger individual parties. I"m not sure how alliances will work, so I'll just take the wait and see attitude.
altho, it still seems like a very OP situation for whoever has control. I may be getting the whole thing wrong. I'm thinking pvp....and someone pops a freakin Ifrit out of emo-rage....
