PvP gets a tournament for each Fanfest again

At least the prizes are better for 1st place. For those who won the entire thing back in 2018 their sub was paid for 3 entire years. What serious pvper isn't going to compete for them?

They also got a laptop if I remember right Also last time in EU like half of the countries couldn't participate in the Feast version of the tournament and that is why so many of the best players couldn't even take part in it and countries like New Zealand were registered in the EU region so the whole event was kinda all over the place.

I wouldn't have known all of the details. I was still learning at the time, and after the removal of 8v8 I did not really give feast a chance until after seeing the ending of the tournament. I do have to ask though now that I'm learning about this. Didn't folks in the discord started that tournament originally?

There were some community tournaments but the FRC in 2018 was completely official and done by SE.

to be fair its not that hard i was able to recruit a team with the various discords and PF, it takes a bit of work but its not impossible

Just imagine if the tournament operated in the exact same fashion just like our normal ranked games. Random strangers, random job comps from the application pool, absolutely zero balance. 2 healers, 2 tanks, 1 discount bard VS. 1 tank, 1 healer, 3 dps. I would definitely tune into this s***show with some popcorn on the side.

A tournament that in no way represents how people play the game mode at all (outside the no-reward no-rank mode for extremely niche-within-a-niche players) doesn't seem very interesting tbh.
If anything it'll probably just show how much better matches can be when you can choose to play with your friends.

It'll probably create issues regardless of what they choose to do afterwards though:

If they do nothing, people will complain that they can't earn rewards and rank playing in premade teams even more than before because the tourney cast a big spotlight on that very fact.

If they put it in as a new mode, people will complain that the pvp player base is spread too thin.

If they allow premades with the solo queuers people will complain about being stomped by VC-using premades all day.
