No wants to play with flower people?

I was in a random duty this past weekend. One of the players noted I have a flower next to my name as a long time player that left a long time ago (2017 to now actually) and glibly told me that "no one wants to play with flower people".

This person then made other comments along that nature despite the fact we cleared the dungeon with no deaths, rather easily I think, and as a Dragoon I was doing pretty good damage.

I mentioned this to my FC and they assured me this is not the case and that most people that play are friendly and enjoy playing with flower people. While I am sure they are correct it did make me wonder if this was really the case.

So is it true that regular veterans do not want to play with flower people or I'm assuming new players as well? Or was this random rude person just a random rude person?

As a sprout, a mentor, A returner, then back to sprout, then back to mentor...I've never heard of such a thing once. That was probably a one time thing.

This person was just a random jerk and you can ignore them. Most people in game are fine with sprouts and many enjoy watching them experience things for the first time.

I have an Alt who almost constantly has the flower since I play it so rarely. In 3 years of existence I've not had ONE person give me any guff about it.

I have never heard of that being a thing. Sprouts and returners are always welcome. Enjoy the game and don't let someone like that ruin it.

Never seen that, but the point of the flower is so that people know you are a returning player and will therefore understand if you make mistakes because of having forgot things. I (like most players) find the flower extremely helpful. It allows me to understand why the player running into walls and getting lost is doing that. It's because they have been away for some time. Without it, people could assume they are trolling.

Dungeons are easy. If someone actually tries to make some sort of comment about performance in a dungeon then they have their priorities wrong.

It does happen sometimes though and when it does, I recommend that you report them. Click the System button, then Support Desk and Report Harassment. Copy and paste what they said and include the time it was said, the player's name and their homeworld. Then explain what you believe happened and why it was wrong.

It is common for SE to warn or ban such people for behaviour like that, but they can't tell you if they did. But assume they did because I see people talk about having had that happen to them after they said rude things in dungeons.

Veteran players have almost no choice but to play with new players when they queue for a roulette, because roulettes supply people who queue directly for duties. Who usually queues directly for a duty? First timers / new players / returners. So 99% of the time, there is a new or returning player in the party. It is normal and usually nobody cares because story content is easy and they can just resurrect them if they die.

I don't normally see anyone talk negatively of new or returning players though. They usually want to help or answer their questions. If they didn't like them they would probably just play with a pre-formed party of friends always.

Ill add another voice to those saying that this isnt really a thing. Are there some jerks that play the game? Every game has jerks. Im happy to get a new player in any matched group. I often want those bonuses. And if im NOT in the mood? I run with a full group of friends or NPCs so as not to inflict my bad mood on someone who did nothing to deserve it.
