Those are not "different playstyles," those are the optimal playstyles. The fact is that the optimal BLM rotation is something virtually 99% of BLM main raiders don't even touch and can't even touch. I personally only ever got the F3P transpose lines down well enough, and that's literally the first baby transpose line out of dozens that are used, but I was already ahead of 99% of BLMs. That's how advanced BLM is. Whereas the optimal GNB or DRG or RDM or whatever rotations are very, very accessible for the median raider. BLM is seriously in a league of its own. One easy way to tell is that just executing BLM well with a few transpose lines shoot you up to 99th percentile. Hell, if you execute the standard rotation perfectly you'd probably get a 97/98 just like that. Most other jobs require some crit farming or ideal kill time to get a 99, i.e. so many people are playing at the ceiling you need to rely on crit RNG and/or good kill times and/or padding to carry you to the high 99s.

Oh, and, BLM is quite literally the only job left in the game whose rotation completely change based on RNG, due to transpose lines.

MNK is also difficult but to a lesser extent (and I would argue not in the same league as BLM at all) due to optimal drift.

I think I would rather listen to what the world top BLMs have to say on the matter.

I'm curious as to if this is your main and if you've progged Savage etc?

If your experience in FFXIV is MSQ, leveling dungeons, experto and 24 man, then you're 100% correct. You can chuck most of your hotkeys in the bin, mindlessly smash 1 button, play wildly incorrectly and you'll still likely make it through just fine and the game makes zero attempts to try and push you to improve (And any players that try that are risking a ban these days, gg).

Step up to Savage prog and beyond and BLM isn't so simple all of a sudden. A big part of it's popularity is that it's got a lot of room to optimise compared to most other jobs and during prog, getting that optimisation right is generally pretty important or enrages will likely be a bit of a hurdle.

    a. I would love to do it

however I'm not auto saying I will be on at x time to do x i get on and play then switch over to red dead redemption with my bestie that I love.

Im not against doing savage but im not a social butterfly that fits in with most people, Most people say I make them uncomfortable for some bullshit reasons.. Maybe if players weren't such pussys and could handle my darkness I would join a group

I have played since 2.0 and many of my friends were from FF11 -> FF14 1.0, we have stuck with the game the entire time but this expansion cycle… it’s bad. Very long content droughts, patches that (besides savage and ultimate) that can literally be done in a single day… We are all worried, very worried. It feels like the game is in maintenance mode now and many of us are sadly, starting to think that the game has peaked and we are on the downhill slide.

If this game is SE’s most important game, it really does not feel like it anymore. None of us are excited for 6.4, instead we feel more of a very sad sense of apathy. By the time 7.0 arrives… I do not know if any of us will remain, and that, for me, is the saddest thing.
