The game is the outlet for them to meet the people hence by saying "the people bring me back" they are saying the game brings them back. Course you personally could just be jaded and this falls on deaf ears
not at all its not the game. they can move to a different one. the reason its ff14 is that game is on ps4/5 and pc. i rarely see older players that play for the game in any way.
when was the last time you even think that? the game is great only for new players . sad but yoshi forget what made this FAILED MMO in to a good one. the players that give it a second chance
"Play other games"I mean, the meaning of what I said is that one basically is already subscribed, all you have to do is step a foot inside it in a 45 days time, while the other one is unsubscribed so they cant do it, at least not without resubscribing.
The hypocrisy that is around this is the whole "yeah people should take breaks" from Yoshi, while at the same time having auto demo up. "You can stop playing, but you cant unsubscribe".
Also, if they wanted, they could fix housing in a single patch or two, and take auto demo permanently, but they dont want to, they prefer band aid fixes that fix nothing
"But wait you still HAVE to pay Sqaure Enix every other month while you're playing other games".
A ton of people love this because they already have a backlog of games to play, or they like free-to-play games like Genshin and Destiny. So for only $13 a month, they can play all the other games they want for free. Playing other games is the biggest draw for many FFXIV players: they get the best gameplay from their other games while also having social prestige from being in the “it” crowd online.
FFXIV has become more like a lifestyle brand than a video game. Much of the new “content” is in the form of microtransactions, merch, and sundry entertainment like conventions and live performances.
