A TON of people love FFXIV as-is. Not because it has a lot of content, but because it doesn't. You see, FFXIV is a game that respects your time. It's the only MMO that gives you permission to go outside, touch grass, play other games, visit relatives, piss on your own time, etc. We all like FFXIV because it doesn't force us to play. And that's a good thing. You can spend only $13 a month (cheaper than Netflix) and play all the other games you want. Isn't that a great deal? And when you feel like playing again next year, all five hours of new content will be here for you to enjoy.

Ah yes they respect your time by forcing you to stay subbed if you have a house, putting gear on weekly lockouts almost all the way until the next tier, delaying content until x.x5 or x.x8 patches, and so on. Yoshi-P can say whatever he wants, the fact is they don't respect your time more then any other MMO.

Has anyone here done the Blue Mage stuff? It's surprisingly fun, and the Masked Carnival surprisingly challenging. I know everyone says BLU is a meme... until you play it. It's truly underrated content, I think.

I have! I actually finished getting my last two spells yesterday and I am at 104/104, fully ready for the level 80 when it comes, and it will be by far the most exciting aspect of the patch.

Seriously, people shit on BLU for the limitations, but you want engaging job gameplay? learn to do the Moon Flute opener consistently, the open-ended nature of BLU makes it such a blast to figure out the correct combinations on your own, and if you can't or don't want to take the time, you can always look them up.

But BLU is the definition of not taking a risk? A risk would have been making BLU a real job with the same mechanic of learning spells as now, instead they made it this abomination that is only useful for open world content (lol) and farming unsynched content you can already blow through in 10 seconds anyway.
