    Massive FPS Loss

I was just flying around in Dravania earlier and my screen went black. After coming back up, my FPS had dipped from its normal 120+, to hovering around 60. I've tried changing every graphics setting, but the only that seems to do anything is turning off ambient occlusion, which raises the FPS to a maximum of about 80. I always play windowed and tried switching to fullscreen to see if that would help, but the game crashes every time I try to make the switch.

I'm still able to run Cyberpunk 2077 on high settings with FPS in the hundreds, as well as some other games, and they all run perfectly fine. It doesn't seem to be an issue with my computer hardware malfunctioning.

    Greetings fellow adventurer,

When your screen turned black and recovered, did you notice a change in graphic settings (visibly lower graphic settings or adjustments made in settings)? Have you attempted any other troubleshooting steps in an attempt to fix this error? I would try disabling the game's full screen optimizations to see if it makes any difference. To do this, find the game's executable file and right-click it, selecting 'Properties'. From there, select the compatibility tab and check the option labeled 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', then click apply.

Thank you for visiting the FINAL FANTASY XIV Technical Support Forums.

No, the graphics look the same and no settings changed after the picture came back. As far as I can tell, literally everything that can be changed in-game stayed how it was, but my FPS just inexplicably dropped.

I've tried restarting my computer, changing settings in the Nvidia Control Panel, and even lowering all the graphics options in-game to minimum, yet the FPS stays around 80 regardless. I did also just turn off fullscreen optimizations as you suggested, but that didn't do anything as far as I can tell.
