Petition to SE: Start banning modding users who engage in 18+ activities immediately

We need Yoshi P to make a statement and promise to ban people illegally modding the game and engage in 18+ activities. These people make it so obvious that a GM can catch them easily. They post lewd acts on Twitter and their search info often contains innuendos like "Mare" which refers to an illegal third party tool and illegal acts with animals.

This game's reputation is already tainted by these people, with Kotaku writing articles about the "brothels" in this game and Asmongold interviewing a courtesan. They are turning this game into a haven for degeneracy.

And now, these illegal people are SELLING third-party modifications behind paywalls to support this illegal industry, which is clearly against the TOS. Will Square Enix take a stand and ban these illegal people for engaging in illegal acts? They would go after wholesome mods like fan FF9 remakes but not go over FF14 R18 remake. Why is this? Time for action, Square Enix.

People like this. This is what they want for Final Fantasy XIV, and honestly? Square Enix doesn't care, so why should we? People come to FFXIV for the modding and the ERP, not for the actual gameplay. And who can blame them when we've gotten nothing but table crumbs for the past year? If Square Enix stays quiet for a year, that doesn't simply pause life for millions of people. They'll either leave the game or, lacking a better alternative, they turn the game into what they want. They use powerful third-party tools that are getting more powerful on a daily basis to fundamentally change how the game looks, feels, and behaves. They change the entire purpose of FFXIV, from being a tab-target MMO to a bougie VRChat with the hottest DJ scene online (yes, with actual DJs). And everyone likes that. Just read the responses to this thread. No one cares. This is what they want. Let them have it.

The rest of us will simply have to hold our noses until a company with an actual dev team makes an MMO more competent than this one. The FFXIV of 2013-2020 is dead and Square Enix let it happen.









So about that "graphics update"...

This is completely unacceptable in a game rated for TEENS. Please spread this word on the JP forums and let's try to get this to Yoshi P's front desk.

I don't care how other people play the game. How other people play is none of my business. You don't have to participate in ERP, you do not have to mod your game, and you do not have to engage with any of these people in any way. As long as mods aren't giving the players an advantage, leave them alone instead of being a snitch. Rule breaking or not. Its not like RMT or anything that actually matters.

Now if you had said something about a mod with actual reasoning (I.e. unfair advantages in raiding, trials, pvp, dungeons etc., hacking other accounts, harassing other players, botting, phishing, etc. ), then MAYBE I would be inclined to hear you out, but you are basically the game equivalent of a Karen. What other people do to get off PRIVATELY isn't your problem, or a problem problem for anyone else as long as it isn't breaking the law! You're gonna be hardpressed to find anyone who actually supports this witch hunting thread, or any of your concerns.

Hell I had access to things FAR more adult than the stuff you see people doing in game before age 5 and the only time it was ever a problem was when some opinionated jackass wanted to declare themselves the authority on how to raise children. And I'd then get a good laugh after a few words and a glare from my mother resulted in that person fearing her more than any deity or demon they could imagine...

We don't need Yoshida to make any statement because it's already been made, it's called the TOS. Modding is against it and doing it in any flavor will get you banned. It's just that they have also committed to not focing us to download instrusive methods to detect such software, so the only way they'll ever catch anyone modding is through reports, or if they do something dumb like posting a FFXIV screenshot with logo on their twitter with their in-game name - even that being a bit of an edge case.

The reason an "innocent" mod would get the hammer first is that people like you would think that an "innocent" FFIX remake or whatever would be treated differently, and proudly show off and brag - guess what, no it would not, and in the end the horny people are also smart enough to keep mum.
