Neither of these is mutually exclusive. Obviously having this LB combo is a death sentence for the lesser HP ranged jobs, but he is absolutely right, a 3s guard-breaking and unpurifyable stun is straight up the highest quality about it.
I feel like any ability, regardless or whether it's a Limit Break or not, should not be bringing high damage and top end control at the same time. This of course looks silly next to Dancer's LB that only charms and does no damage, with obviously the idea being that it's strong control.
My only issue with the LB's are the ones that go through guard. While I understand guard needs a counter, I also find the lack of counter to some LB's to be a little frustrating, but overall as I said before the mnk LB is fine considering that is the only thing keeping them relevant.I feel like any ability, regardless or whether it's a Limit Break or not, should not be bringing high damage and top end control at the same time. I haven't seen a lot of Meteodrive abuse on ranged players with MNKs recently so i'll settle for this for now. Still not how I'd have changed it though (I'd have helped the base kit while nerfing the LB damage or even actually go back to what the tooltip actually implied, that the damage was lower on a Guarded target in counterpart of removing Guard). I do agree that I don't like jobs that rely too much on their LBs, although I've seen good MNK players being literally unkillable with a good use of soaking hits with riddle up, guarding with a safe margin, then zoom away while popping riddle. Very good tank job in that.

Tbh my main gripe with Meteo Drive has essentially nothing to do with the ability itself and more about how Limit Breaks in general just charge for free as long as you stay alive. Seeing the gauge slowly tick up with the MNK doing little only to then get deleted because lol-got-combo is extremely unfun, even if theyre not efficient.I haven't seen a lot of Meteodrive abuse on ranged players with MNKs recently so i'll settle for this for now. Would love for a mix of performance based LB generation and LB over time. Exact numbers I don't have, but would at least encourage proactive play.

I don't mind the idea in theory, but the game mode already snowballs way too hard (a common problem with XIV pvp, see FLs/RW with battle high...), so having the losing team be nerfed on their LB generation while the winning one gets free treats, I'm really not very hot about it...

I suppose would kind of depend on the "how much" and "under which conditions". Matches in general are rather short so I can see the worry here.I don't mind the idea in theory, but the game mode already snowballs way too hard (a common problem with XIV pvp, see FLs/RW with battle high...), so having the losing team be nerfed on their LB generation while the winning one gets free treats, I'm really not very hot about it...
Unless a team fight is a bit more drawn out, a quick total wipeout can definitely be a pain for the LB economy much like Overwatch for example. I mean it currently already does if you stagger a whole team by 15s+ per death but with performance based LBs would require a lot more finetuning for this - to this day they keep tweaking Ult generation in OW.

I'll be more inclined to consider it if they actually gave more defender's advantage in counterpart (and got rid of that weirdchamp fast checkpoint clearance you get under 1min left because ninja comebacks are stupid). In what form? I don't know.
