While I was in the hospital for 4 days there was an email sent to me about housing demolition on the 18th stating my house was going to be demolished on the 20th. I attempted to get my house back but they game masters took their time and the automated system allowed my house to be sold. I then received a message saying that loosing my house was my fault and they would not do anything to help. As far as I am concerned this is a very poor way to conduct a business and I probably will not renew my account when this cycle expires.

GM's wouldn't have been able to prevent the auto-demolition. It would have been 45 days since you last entered your house. I'm sorry you had a hospitalization as the cause but there's no stopping it unless SE stops it for everyone in the region.
Their lack of ability to assist you wouldn't be a poor way to conduct business, that's just how the game is.

Read my post the auto delete is 45 days the notification to demolish was 15. I was in the hospital for 4 days --they email was sent on the 18th and they demolished the house on the 20th, so when I got back home on the 20th my house was gone.

You didn't lose your house because of a missing email, though, it happened because you didn't enter it for 45 days. Your timers tab in game had a notification 15 days prior. The active help window for housing points to the resident caretaker NPC who has this information, and it can also be read in various patch notes and the housing guide outside of the game.

Was it scheduled? As in: you knew at least 1 day ahead of that, that you were going there? If so, still your fault even without initial warning mail. You already should have entered it at that point. Because complications in a hospital can happen. Imagine those 4 days became 20? Dont take risks.

If it wasnt scheduled. Then you had bad luck on that part. But even then, you werent regularly visiting your house anyway. Which is still your mistake. You could have easily scheduled it in such way you would enter your house once a week.

The mails are there for convenience, but mail is unreliable (as you witnessed now). The ingame timer is still the best one to go with. And its your own task to maintain it.

The only case where i would agree would be if you had a car crash and ended up in the hospital for a month in which at least 3 weeks you werent able to talk. You could otherwise have arranged a backup laptop to be able to log in and enter the house (even if the game runs 5fps, thats not relevant at that pint). But its highly unlikely that this happens. You are rarely in a hospital for over a week.
And even in that exception case, you are going to face the same issue as when a band would play a live concert in your country. You will miss out on it and there is no way to recover that.

The things you read on these forums…that’s just insensitive and dumb. Health matters aside (several conditions can make you incapable of playing), not everyone can have a backup laptop and not every hospital provides a connection that allows to play games.

Anyway, to make it simple, try not to be last minute: things can happen.

45 days should be enough time to allow people to enter their houses. There’s always exceptions like that time I got stuck in a remote region with no internet access for an extra 3 weeks after a 4 weeks business trip as the plane couldn’t land (no roads) due to weather but that’s just bad luck.

So you haven't used your house in at least 40 days before your trip to the hospital?
Nothing was taken from you, you didn't simply use your house from the sounds of it.

They didnt steal anything, housing is a luxury and also a scarce resource, you had 40 days to enter your house, and you didnt, you didnt even use your house so what have you lost exactly ?
