Bug or not, just put a retainer bell in your house and check it first when you log in and last when you log out.
I’m not judging but it’s quite simple anyway. I personally use my house for a lot of things like crafting or calling the esthetician, etc. Using my house is a part of my routine in the game.

Not really, it say play the game if you want to keep your stuff, and it say if you stay away too long we will give people that play the game active a chance to get a house instead.

Honestly the wards will probably always have auto-demo to clear out the unused plots… yet another reason adding instanced would be a good thing. An instanced plot wouldn’t take up any space if it’s not in use, so no need to demo those. And in my idealized dream world, they could make it so your unused ward house gets converted to an instanced house during the auto-demo process, so you don’t lose anything if something comes up and you can’t play for awhile.

Counterpoint: You stole the a house, a limited commodity by taking it and then refusing to do anything with it thereby denying it to someone who might have actually used it.

Its not a unique thing either, there are plenty of medium and large houses out there that have been empty aside from (maybe if you're lucky) a single merchant in them. I'd hate to think there are players out there who are just so petty they'd keep a house and do nothing just to stop others from actually enjoying them.

I gotta agree with the others here, you didn't care about your house for 41 days prior to you being hospitalized, so that means your old house was not important to you if you didn't bother going inside within that time period. I made it a habit to go inside my home and go to bed when I log out, that way it always resets the auto-demolition timer daily because I own a personal P60 Shiro mansion that's worth keeping it since I use it daily.

Why am I picturing someone ripping out their IV to run home and stop their game house from auto-demoing?

This gave me a good laugh but in seriousness, I would've had a family member login to reset the auto demolition if I was hospitalized for 45 days since I use my home daily on a normal day or have them bring my Steam Deck so that I can do it myself from the hospital.
