    Unique/Untradable gear and melding

    I know this may of been brought up before and probably won't be the last, but would there be anyway to implement a way to at least single meld gear like darklight and primal weps etc?

    Reasoning I mentioned just single melding is because that wouldn't let some of the U/U gear be that powerful and would also prevent from breaking this gear (for example AF since there isn't a way to re-get that gear).

    I just feel that melded gear in the end with certain pieces beats some of the U/U gear that really should be the best in the game. I mean I hate spending days upon days upon days to farm gear that I probably won't use over my triple melded piece of gear, but I do it anyways to get the gear lol!

    It is kind of silly that the current system makes generic-looking gear be the best gear you could wear.

    Either u/u gear needs to be meldable, or non-meldable gear needs to have good enough stats to make up for lack of materia.

    One of the features they are trying to have is that craftables will be as good or better than what items drop from chests/etc. If this changed such that U/U items could be melded, then they would have to be downgraded in potency otherwise craftable items could not compete.

    Doesn't that make U/U gear worthless to farm? Although I know what you are getting at, it doesn't make sense.

    The thing i've noticed is that U/U gear (such as heavy darklight) has stat combinations you simply cannot get on crafted gear aka +enmity on the chest/head slot. This keeps certain gear favorable while making crafted gear somewhat lackluster. Although it does open up to your own self itemization such as you can put +enmity on something else, and throw a materia on a crafted chest or helm to make up what you sacrificed to get that +enmity

    They have to work hard to keep the types of equipment you get different enough to give both values. For example, if gold coffers from dungeons dropped Int +14 rings, why would anyone care? Even if it was Int +17 no one would care. So they do not go for something as simple as that. They plant things that are different but still of value.

    Definitely, it shall be very useful to recycle U/U gear into materia instead of simply throwing it away :/.
