you probably never went really far. Even in an unlucky run, I usually make a few mils when I get all the way to the end. It’s the 151-200 lvls in PoTD and 70-100 in the others that are the most rewarding. Even at low levels you can get items worth a few hundred thousand. The last dungeon gives a lot of minions at low levels if you even bother with the chests. Just start a PF group to go to the end.

Anyway, I play because I have fun, not just the rewards.

What made you like the game before? Can you focus on things related to that?

Get into extreme and savage for the fun of clearing it and you'll have content for years.

6 month break still isnt much considering its about 4-5 months between each major patch. I usually tell folks who arent liking the cycle to just quit for now and pop back in at the end of of the expansion after the x.5 patch.

I still enjoy the game just nothing that EW has to offer. I'm still getting more enjoyment out of things like Bozja/Zadnor and Eureka. Outside of the new deep dungeon and savage EW has been very "meh".

A lot of people love FFXIV precisely because they don’t have to play it. They can log on, idle, and tab out to play something else. Some people use the FFXIV party finder to find people for other games. That’s just how Yoshi-P likes this game. It’s not meant to be a “main game” anymore in the post-Endwalker era. It’s a nice little side game like Cookie Clicker or Neopets, not an actual video game that you’re supposed to be focused on.

And a lot of people love FFXIV for this reason too. It’s an “anti-game” because it encourages you to go outside and touch grass. FFXIV players likely have better mental health than most people because of that. Not a lot of games give you permission to stop playing, right?

You're posts are always so funny to read. Be careful though: meme too much and eventually you will start believing what you are saying.

I'm sorry no disrespect but that just seems like madness to me. Leaving for more than 6 months to come back to "maybe" enjoy the short content available. So essentially don't play during the entire expansion, just come back at the end? Lol I love this game but something needs to change

If you're looking for an MMO that always has something for you to do, FFXIV isn't it. Especially if you like party content. The game is only active at night. Try finding stuff in PF early in the morning - you'll wait hours.

FFXIV is more focused on the social aspect of gaming. If you want something that is more geared towards gameplay, I suggest you try looking for a new game. Preferably something with PvP.

Personally, I recommend Guild Wars 2. It still remains to this day the best MMO experience I've played, despite me not playing it anymore. I remember taking a break from FFXIV to go back to it, and it made me wonder why I stuck with FFXIV for so long. The reason is raiding - that's really the only thing I play FFXIV for. And in my eyes, it's all it's really good for. For absolutely everything else (story, open-world, combat, build/job variety, dungeons, world-building, PvP, inventory management, glamour, dyes, etc.), GW2 does it better.

There's a reason why games like League, CS/Valorant, and Fortnite are still popular to this day.

Unless you value prog raiding or keep up with pvp, there really isnt anything else that has that FOMO experience as it comes out. You can do everything else at a later time. So coming in around X.5 still gives you like 5-6m month to catch up before the next expansion, they usually tack on an extra month or 2, which is plenty to experience it all really, if you something to grab you and make you grind, this is just not the game for you anymore...
