Do people see lalafells as children?

Serious question: do folks look at lalafells as adults or closer to children (or somewhere in between)?

I ask because the game itself definitely paints them as adults (often evil, ruthless, money-grubbing adults), but the running gag of lecherous lalafells (usually males) is definitely found throughout the game.

Do you think the average person, when seeing a snippet of dialogue where a male lalafell is hitting on the women of taller races, would be weirded out by it?

I think its split between a proper adult, children/potatos, and for PC lalafell tag in spam monkies.

Iono... It's not really a trend now but there have been Japanese shows like back in the 90s where there were "lecherous" children running around causing like "Dennis the Menace" kind of hijinks.

Crayon Shinchan for instance was one I can think of. Even though he is supposed to be a 5yr old he chases after women and stuff... It's kind of a weird thing that exists I guess.

Though I'm not sure that's what they were going for here. Just it's that kind of contrarian idea however, it's not what you'd expect for obvious reasons. So, of course, we'd need Lalafels up to no good... like killing folks and being amorous... :3 Otherwise, everyone that played them would feel kind of obligated to act a certain way perhaps and maybe some people might not play lalafels that would otherwise. Cause I imagine some might be put off by playing a character known to have childlike innocence.

Yes and no? The game does a really good job at potraying them as adults so usually I don't when they're involved in the MSQ. But they look like children and I can't really get past that.

Pretty much that. Every time I play my character, no matter the race, I see her as my "other me" so I definitely see my lalas as grown up adult but, on the other side, I can pass the fact they look like children and I makes me uneasy when I see them dressed in certain manner (thus why you'll never see my lalas wearing something sexy in opposition to my other races)

We eventually start to see Lalafells as little people with intelligent minds, and so the lore agrees of course, as everyone treats Lalafells as adults. The lore proves more than enough that Lalafells are not to be underestimated. This extends to the PC Lalafells imo. I see those Lalafells as people much like everyone else, but only with a plus point in cuteness.

Pretty much like Halflings, Gnomes or Dwarves (minus the beard) in traditional heroic fantasy

They look like children for sure, I also can't get past it. When I see characters like Lolorito it is just comedical and I can't believe them as evil adults. Or maybe it's like a parody chibi anime, either way I can't believe lalafells as serious adults.

I see Lala as very infant like. Tarutaru from XI, I saw as more adult like. Not sure why, considering Taru would actually have dialog that sounds more child-like.

Maybe it's just cause Taru's reminded me of Koala's. I really have no idea. I just remember taking Taru more seriously than I do with Lala's.

Well in ffxi there was an item you could use to turn into children version of races, as well as children being present in the world. As such seeing a comparison might make it easier to see them as adults
