The Eorzea Database says there are 276 Machinist's arms. Of those, maybe about 50 are duplicate models (some using predictable identifiers like Replica, Augmented, Weathered, Antiquated, Lux, Matte, Anemos, Pyros, Awakened, Animated; and some (the Primal weapons) using unpredictable names). That means they'd have to come up with over 200 aetherotransformer designs if each weapon were to have its own unique aetherotransformer.

However, the aetherotransformer isn't a changing part of the weapon. It is a singular box that Stephanivien built for you. The art of machinistry is new, and it's reasonable to assume that while you might find pistols all over the world, you won't find pistols that come with aetherotransformers. That vast majority of the guns you find are just guns that would use firesand and lead projectiles. You are repurposing them to work with the magic from the aetherotransformer you already have.

We could consider unique aetherotransformers as glamours of the same box if they wanted to use gun-specific designs, but this at least is the reason they all have used the same box since HW.
