The Nintendo Switch is the currently most popular gaming console in Japan and North America by far.

Many players want to enjoy the game on PC using a controller that they already have.

We already have support for both Playstation and XBox style button layouts, but not for Nintendo style.

On a Switch controller the locations of the A and B, as well as the X and Y buttons are swapped. Furthermore the names of the trigger buttons are different.

Currently Switch controller users either have to deal with a mismatch in the buttons they press and the letters of the buttons on screen, or with a mismatch in the location of their cross-hotbar actions. Neither of these are ideal, they are annoying and lead to a bad play experience.

The Switch pro-controller has been a great option for PC users in many other games for 5 years now, but Square Enix has yet to add such a simple UI change. Why? Isn't it time?
