    Local Settings Reset to Default?

After logging in about 20 minutes ago, instead of the normal launcher displaying, I was prompted to set up a SE account and verify registration. Confused, I pressed next and selected the option for already having an account. I entered my information and then was taken to the normal launcher page where I entered my information along with my OTP.

However, the game booted in windowed mode at 1280x780 and asked me if I wanted to set up my controller which was confusing. I went into system settings to switch back to full resolution, borderless windowed, and noticed that all of my settings were at their default. Sound volumes were all set to 100, etc. The opening cinematic when you play for the first time also started playing and it came as no surprise when I finally logged in with my character that the UI was entirely default.

I've had no issues like this previously, so I'm assuming this is something related to the latest patch. I did download my backed up settings, but they are from a few weeks ago and I would like to restore the ones I had before maintenance if possible as I recently started playing on a new PC and have made a lot of adjustments since the last back up.

And in case it's relevant, I do not use Steam and play on Crystal.

    Greetings adventurer,

I'm sorry to hear that this happened! The game's local files can usually be found within the following folder: C: Documents > My Games > FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn. I would recommend checking to see if the files are still there, or if they were deleted/misplaced. If you had a copy of your setting files saved someplace else, you could also drag and drop them into the FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn folder to restore the files.

I hope this information is helpful. Thank you for visiting the FINAL FANTASY XIV Technical Support Forums!
