If you need a reminder to step inside your house every month, maybe you are too inactive to own one. Auto demo isn't a convenience feature. It's there for the players who enter the lottery every cycle and keep losing, and want access to this content. If you lost a house to auto demo, in most cases it was auto demo working as intended.

As, for email notifications, I already posted how badly email notifications can go for some people.
    I'm against warnings at all.

Why even own a house if you don't bother to check EVEN ONCE in 45 DAYS?

They'll receive every other SE email, but for some odd reason those notifications go to spam/junk. How often do you check your junk mail? 3. Sometimes people don't get a notification at all. As a side note, those email notifications aren't worded very well either. I've seen a few people who think "accessing" you estate means checking your garden or entering your plot. The email doesn't specifically say enter your house, nor does your timers tab.
I can tell you straight up that #1 is a misrepresentation and #3 is false.

For #1: Autodemos occur at specific times, so the email waves occur at the start of the day based on the day the autodemo is scheduled for. It is always at minimum 9 days before the autodemo.

For #3: The email explicitly says the following:
Preparations for the automatic removal will be deactivated if at least one member of a free company accesses the free company estate, or if the owner of a private estate enters their house at least once before the Removal Date.
You can argue for ambiguity for FCs (sort of, though it's a stretchy argument to begin with), but it's quite explicit for private owners.

E: For those who have never seen one of these emails before, here's an attached one. All the ones I've ever received have used this same template. https://i.imgur.com/1hkj1rf.png

There have been several reports of people entering their houses, and checking their timers to make sure auto demo is reset. Then 2 days later they get an email that the same house they just reset is about to demo. There are also a handful of people who don't get a notification at all for whatever reason, even if that email works fine for all other SE notifications.

Thank you for posting an image of the demolition notice. I've never seen one in it's entirety. As you said, making a case for FCs would be a stretch, and reading the whole email would have saved people. In the past couple months there have been a couple posts on twitter about people gardening, using their target dummies, checking their mail, and they assumed that was "accessing their estate." Until their house went poof. Maybe if they had read the whole email, their houses would have been saved.

I've only seen one person suggest a big toast notification. A message in your chat log when you login or a notification like the current lottery notification would be enough imo. If someone misses those, or turns off their notifications, then that's on them. It definitely isn't going to stop all demolitions. People want to take breaks from the game, and don't want to resubscribe just to save their house. It's common to see on twitter people pondering whether they want to login to save their house. I haven't counted, but I'd guess so far it's about 50/50 that people decide it's worth their time or money. The in game notifications will probably be for outliers, where email failed, and people realized oops, using my target dummy doesn't count as using my house.

    - Forgets to enter house for 45 days.
    - Creates a fake story about a non existent issue to get sympathy from GMs and other players.

There is absolutely no proof the so called "housing demo bug" is real.

It's literally people finding excuses because their house got auto demo'd, with hope to get their houses back somehow, even if you did enter it and it didnt remove the auto demo, you can clearly see it didnt remove it, it shows in your chat if it does remove it, I have done it a few times on my alt, it literally shows in the middle of the screen AND in the chat

Stop finding excuses. Either you use your house or you dont, if you dont, you lose it, period.

No one said there was a "bug." The people I mentioned thought using their outside items counted as "access." It didn't though, and they obviously didn't read the full demolition email.
