Length MSQ from all the expansions - it is getting insane

I've been playing MMOs since 1999. I tend to have alts in other games, especially where you're limited to one class. I have alts here. But I also recognize that this game has a different setup. One of the strengths is that you can try all classes on a single character. That was one thing that forced us to have alts in past MMOs and that requirement doesn't exist here. And so I know that alts, while a valid choice, are still a choice in this game and not a necessity. So I do what's necessary to see them progress, be that story skips or playing through the MSQ again.

Here is a PARTIAL list of the GIGANTIC amount of content Blizzard wiped out of existence. There is a ton more. Whilst I agree the MSQ can be daunting, THIS is what sets us apart from that FOMO riddled Destiny clone wannabe.

All zone stories from all zones in Eastern Kingdroms and Kalimdor from Vanilla, many of which either had sequels or references in Cata updated versions of the zones, or were followed up on in other expansions
Most class-specific quests that showed how characters got abilities from Vanilla, EG Shaman totem quests or Druid form quests
The original Deadmines, Scholomance, and Zul'Gurub from Vanilla
The original Zul'Aman from BC
The original Karazhan ring quests from BC
The Wrathgate/Siege of Undercity from WoTLK
Battlefield Barrens from MoP (the zone changes are still there, but the events they were tied to and surrounding quests are removed)
Legendary ring quest chain from WoD
Legendary Cloak quest chain from MoP
Vash'jir intro and ending from Cata
Alliance Twilight Highlands intro from Cata
Some pre-destruction of the Vale versions of daily quests in MoP
The Mage Tower quest chain endings from Legion

If the only way to defend parts of your game is by downplaying others, your game doesnt have as much quality points as you think it does

And why would it digust me? MMOs are supposed to be a living breathing world. People already meme on characters existing in 4 different versions due to sharding.

Like I almost finished them in every Map with only a few having good stories behind them. All these quests...these...

• Pick items off the ground
• Unskippable slow-motion multiple choice cutscenes
• Forced mount riding scenery
• Say this dumb word/sentence/emote at specific npc/spot
• Discount FPS simulator
• Warrior of light/ grab this box and carry it yonder
• Beckon this slow-motion having ass NPC's
• Weaken x mob and capture it with something

So much Quests so much woah, much fun, much woah. Look it's cute the first few times... but after a while =u=;

No, i actually prefer it the WoW way, making it feel like an actual world. In the grand scheme of things the amount of stuff removed is miniscule. Also better remove for everyone compared to removed and then put in the store due to greed *cough* seasonal events *cough*

..of WHAT? Where is the world of Legion, of WOTLK, Of Cataclysm....of Pandaria? Gone. Cutscenes? Hundreds of them. Gone. Obliterated.

Shinkuno, for the love of heaven, the Blizzard dev team WIPED OUT an entire questline in their Shadowlands expansion..in the first few weeks. They told no one. Not even their CURRENT expansion is safe from this idiocy.

After a brief investigation, an internet user discovered that patch 9.1 has quietly removed 13 quests related to Torghast Tower, including those requiring us to find Jaina and Thrall in The Maw.

It should be noted that along with these quests, events that are relevant to the storyline have also disappeared, whether in the form of cutscenes or in-game dialogues. Even if their importance is considered minimal, players see no reason why Blizzard should remove these quests entirely. To make matters worse, there was no mention of these quests in patch 9.1, as you would expect from such an important change.

From what I can tell, when 9.1 dropped Blizzard simply removed the following quests in an undocumented change. Simply deleted them and marked the complete for everybody. Given that the core problem that starts the expansion is the capture of the faction leaders, simply deleting these quests obviously guts the bulk of the main, non-covenant story for the entire expansion.

Apparently deleted quests: Explore Torghast / Remnants of Hope / Information for a Price / Torment Chamber: Jaina / Finding a Witness / Lest the Trail Go Cold / Torment Chamber: Thrall / Signs of the Lion / The Captive King / An Echo in the Darkness / The Highlord's Vision / A Mourneblade Born / The Jailer's Grasp

I never did them. And I can't. All the quests with Bolvar peering into the Maw, and Jaina severing the Jailer's tie to him, and all those cutscenes . . . simply gone.

How [ bleep] stupid is that?

It's infuriating if you missed it due to real life things or taking a break.

STOP IT BLIZZARD.

They started doing this in BFA. War of Thornes was probably the coolest pre-patch event in the game in terms of lore and it was axed. All those dev resources wasted and if you missed it, screw you.

Then they deleted all the Heart of Azeroth quests for Magni, getting Mother, etc. They had been catchup quests but they all got axed with each patch making the Heart of Azeroth story non-sensical if you jumped in at 8.3.

This is the best of them all

Imagine starting WoW blind in 2021:

step 1: start a new character on a boat that crashes and you fight ogres raising a zombie dragon. Why? where is this? what were you doing? who knows!

Step 2: now bad news kid, its war, you are going off to bfa where the planets blood is a powerful crystal, why? who knows you sure as hell dont know about the sword in silithus as you dont get the heart quest till level 40 if you even bother. Now cross these zones, maybe two max gearing up for a war.

Step 3: too bad you hit lvl.50 so forget that war, now you are going to this frozen castle you dont know to go into the afterlife which is in the sky, dont question it, to rescue people who outside jaina you have never met. Enjoy questing through these floating bowls re-meeting people you have never met and dont understand the significance of to stop sylvanas. Who? doesn’t matter if you are alliance you never met her.

Step 4: Those people you came to rescue? yeah that part was patched out they are fine NOW LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT SIGILS

That will be 15 bucks a month. Welcome to World of Warcraft in 2021. Don’t forget to preorder the sylvanas novel.

Its like its full on end of life cycle and blizzard knows at best its an endless adventure mode to keep sunk cost players churning new alts with a habit forming progress loop, always staring at that cash shop button and they know the game can only decline at this point and any hopes of a resurgence or significant new generations of players is long gone.

All I can say is THANK THE TWELVE we dont have to put up with this kind of amateur night garbage.
