Length MSQ from all the expansions - it is getting insane

The skips are predatory. When they were made, there were other options available. One option could be to shorten the story quest or offer in-game skip(WoW does this sometimes). Another option is to give players all of the unlockables from the story quest, and offer alternate means of leveling. But no, the choice was made, after the numerous complaints the devs must have received, of how long the msq is, they chose to capitalize on the players complaints.

"If you feel forced then you might want to rethink the mmo scene". Can you explain how this unique problem to FFXIV would lead you to this conclusion?

To be fair, they did go through and prune ARR a couple years back since it really needed to be shortened. I wouldn't be shocked if somewhere down the line they'd prune other expansions or just offered a skip with DT (since it's the start of a new arc and it's been brought up by others that MSQ would be slog at that point, dunno if they've mentioned this since I'm avoiding spoilers for DT).

considering the things i've seen you say on here i'm not at all surprised you skipped most of the actual game..... roflmao...

Unsure why this is an insult when more people than you'd think pay for skips lol. Some people just genuinely don't care about the story and want to get to end-game savage or newbies skip to catch up to where their friends are because they don't want to wait. There's more to this game than just the story ultimately, all it does it roadblock the content some actually want to do.

When you are talking about A realm reborn you have to remember that they were still rebuilding the game after the disaster that was 1.0. Heavensward was when this game started growing and the dev team wants to have regular content updates which makes patching some of the problems in the early parts of the game difficult, they considerably shortened the time it took to do the post 2.0 story line a few years ago but there is still some story that they had to fit in there. I personally gave up the game about a year ago and closed my account due to nerve problems and finding a group to do content with at the time, but I grew to miss the community, so I came back on a new account and do understand your frustration.

Insane? If anything i want it to be longer, thats the sole reason i play ff14, the story.
