i really wanted to say this to them. they think they the expert on modern testing and stuff because they did it during an era where stuff was much simpler overall.
would like to have something most people would call mid tier... something thats not as easy to fall asleep, but also not difficult enough to need discord/premades/macros. there are/were already some fights like that in the game. certsin fights in a-raids and in bozja
Alliance Raid (Extreme) and Dungeons (Extreme) please, or at least scalable difficulty dungeons. The only real mid level difficulty content we get in a patch is 1 extreme fight.
The principles and practice remain the same, regardless of time. The tools may be different, but the end goal, the procedures are all standard and have been for decades. Beta / alpha /. combat testing all share the same tasks / goals, irrespective of when.i really wanted to say this to them. they think they the expert on modern testing and stuff because they did it during an era where stuff was much simpler overall.
Your job is to test, quality check, look for bugs, problems, tuning, in the case of alpha / beta, the old phrase test to destruction comes to mind "Heres my latest build, see if you can break it , log what you find and tell me all about it."
The task and the discipline are the same.
Tier clear rates exceeded 50% on some JP servers last tier, and it's very safe to assume a lot more people raid than end up fully clearing any given tier.
The narrative that raiding is somehow niche content needs to just die already. It's easily the most popular type of optional end-game content in the game.

ok but again, as i said earlier in this thread. you take development time away from actual new content creating a content draught just to appease the few who want this type of content. content i might add they will burn and then complain theres no more. meanwhile the actual content that should be made is pushed back.Tier clear rates exceeded 50% on some JP servers last tier, and it's very safe to assume a lot more people raid than end up fully clearing any given tier.

'Actual content' being what exactly? Failed systems like Variant Dungeon and Island Sanctuary that barely anyone actually continues to interact with? A lot of the optional content in EW has fallen completely flat, and nothing of value would be lost if it were axed to make room for something better.ok but again, as i said earlier in this thread. you take development time away from actual new content creating a content draught just to appease the few who want this type of content. content i might add they will burn and then complain theres no more. meanwhile the actual content that should be made is pushed back.

Variant/Criterion was dead when people realised how awful the rewards were vs the time it took. Part of the problem IMHO was that I could clear a regular route faster solo as healer with spirit dart than I could a random group. Same goes for grinding chests for minions. Meanwhile Criterion just wasn't worth the time it took which was a shame, it was really quite fun content.
Isle seems to have faired better, I still see people doing it, however the issue there is that it's rather finite content, surprisingly so for a discount farm sim. Adding new content that won't get blown through in a few sittings is kind of tricky.
It's quite simple to verify. Go stand at the item exchange NPC for the Variant dungeon and see how many people interact with it. It's easy enough to do the same for the Isle Sanctuary travel NPC as well as the Savage coffer exchange NPC. Compare that to the number of PFs you'll see for Criterion vs Savage. It's not great sadly.
The player retention vs something like Bojza has been awful.

Whilst I dont doubt you, thats one server's data, I haven t looked at Kujata's. but I will. It's quite simple to verify. Go stand at the item exchange NPC for the Variant dungeon and see how many people interact with it
