What do you think about Miqo'te without facial markings?

I've been seeing a bit of hate for it in my home server recently, although none of it has been directed at me. I don't really mind, I'm not going going to scream racism like this is irl, but it has made me curious.

Do people not like Miqo'te without facial markings? I've been thinking of fantaing lately, not necessarily for the facial markings but for some other things. I'm thinking about changing that as well too and I'm curious to see what people think.

When i was catboy i debated going from seeker to keeper, but the lack of face marks made it look very weird. I think people taking those races and trying to make them as human as possible is just, why not just play midlander at that point?

Because each race only have 4 face options. I think a lot of people (myself included) actually do prefer just vanilla human, but the reason why we sometime dip into the other races because of the face option. It's the same reason I think Au'ra face 1 is the most common since the horn is the least intrusive, even though face 3 is actually very nice, but the horn is way too big. Basically people roll another race for more option on the face, but still gonna try to make it as close to a human as possible.

Probably won't happen, but if the game let you pick the face options across all race, with the physical racial feature coming in its own separated group (like Viera and their ears), I bet you'll see a massive amount of people will roll midlander if they can access the meld of the other races.

Huh, I'd thought that both clans had the same markings, but playing with it now it seems that where Seekers have two symmetrical tattoo/marking options, Keepers take one of those two options and make it separate left/right toggles for asymmetrical markings. Seems like an odd way to do it when the specific marks seem to be about making them more catlike.

Anyway, I've got two male Seeker characters and used the outer-eye markings and cheek stripes on both of them (one had the eye markings permanently) but wasn't keen on the "three spots on the nose" marking.

I realized i was talking about the clan marks instead of the little stripes on the side of the face, but the rest of my point still stands

I feel like they are necessary after being a Mithra for so long in FF11 (as I don't have them on my character D: )

When it comes down to it I doubt any significant amount of people really care whether you have markings or not.

I kinda wish I could have clan marks all over and not just on the face. I want stripes like a tiger, rawr.

My miqo'te character has never had facial markings of any sort at all since I first created her back in 1.0 (and I've kept her hairstyle/colour and facial features consistant the whole time). It's a personal choice for me, and I've never experienced any sort of hate or discrimination for it. If people are criticising you for not having facial markings, then blacklist them and move on, as they're not worth worrying about.
