I can't take any and that makes me sad. I might be doing something wrong, I mean I do click prnt sc and then nothing. Also I can't seem to find a screenshot folder in the FFXIV file. Is there a preferred method people use?

I think you have to hold Scroll Lock (which hides the UI) and then hit Print Screen to take a screenshot. The directory is listed in Final Fantasy XIV Config and can be changed.
You can also use a third-party tool to take screenshots. I run FFXIV through Steam, so I just hit F12 if I want the UI or Scroll Lock + F12 if I don't. I can also upload them to my Steam profile this way.
Yeah you have to hold Scroll lock first, or alternatively do it the ghetto way by hitting print screen then CTRL-V into paint or photoshop.
Or use Fraps.
Thanks all for your responses. I had the weirdest thing happen to me. I tried the scroll lock method but it didn't work, so naturally I was disappointed. Then I loaded it onto Steam, and for the heck of it tried scroll lock and print screen again to make sure. To my surprise it worked. I logged out and played it off of Steam and I've been able to take screenshots since. What would happen is I'd press the button, then nothing would happen. Now it makes a camera noise and tells me exactly where the screenie was sent. So it's really strange, but thanks for all your help!
Also.. I looked up Fraps.. and I want...
