Am I the only one who feels bad declining FC invites?

Especially when they send you a nice whisper pouring their heart out on why they want you to join?

Like, as much as I want to support small to medium sized FC's, before I quit and came back. I was in the best/top FC of my entire data center. (of the data center I used to be in)

Once you been in a top FC for quite sometime, it's hard to go back to smaller ones with the same old tight knit people to socialize with and the limited amount of people to do content with. And a lot of smaller FC's tend to be ran by a couple (bf and gf, gf gf, bf bf, etc, married) which is already a no no for me. Because those are two people you gotta suck up to. But that's a story for another day.

Also smaller fcs are better for sprouts, who barely done any content.

I used to get so many guild invites in other mmos and fc invites in this one spammed at me along with their typical copy-paste recruiting info to the point of frustration.

It may sound harsh, but I almost felt the reverse of OP, and hoped me declining them repeatedly would discourage and/or dishearten them. Not that it did, however.

No, but in my case I was just getting FC invite spam constantly from random strangers I never met or talked to at all. Occasionally I'll get an actual message whispered to me, but 90% of the time it's obviously a boilerplate copy/paste job so that's not much better. If it feels like someone is actually talking to me for real then I'll politely reply back, but still can't feel bad for rejecting them. When it comes down to it, they don't know me or what I'm like. They just want to bloat their membership numbers and use me to do it. They're like telemarketers.

I'm guessing you're talking about something different though, perhaps someone you know or have played with before? I could definitely understand turning them down in that case. Sometimes I get Friend List requests from folks that I had fairly minimal interactions with, and I do feel bad rejecting those. I don't want them to think I disliked them or anything, but honestly I'm not really social in the game. Sometimes I just accept the request even though I know we'll probably never interact again.

nah, the people who invite me usually try to get to know me, which I do get to know them, only for me to still wanna decline, which makes me feel bad.

Nope. If they're one of those groups that randomly spams people, that message was copy pasted 110%.

I wouldn't feel too bad. If they really want to get to know you and spend time with you, there are always linkshells.

Most of it's just copy/pasted. Hard to really care at that point, even if this just shows how expendable we are as people.

I don't feel bad saying no. However I got TIRED of saying no. I made my only FC for 3 reasons.

1. Stops FC invites

2. FC Chest is all for me

3. My FC name is like an additional title. I like the Riskbreaker title.

My search info very clearly states "No, I don't want to join your FC." I find it harder to not be rude when they shoot an invite anyway.

Most I just ignore. Every so often, one hits the lottery and I get snippy with them.

Most of the time, they seem to take offense at this. I ain't gonna feel bad if folks can't be bothered to see that search info while they spam their invites out to everyone in player search.

As a player with every job at 80 (cuz I've been putting off EW for a while...), there's clear indication that I've spent plenty of time in game. I'm not FC-less by pure chance, just waiting for someone to finally snatch me up. Folks really need to be putting a moment of thought into who they're inviting.

Stick with sprouts. Anyone without an FC that has clearly spent some chunk of time in game is probably playing solo by choice. Leave us alone.
