    Spicy takes incoming.

    Buff BLM, Buff RDM, Slightly buff SMN (Rdm above smn thx), BLM top DPS by a slight margin, Buff phys ranged a bit while you're at it.
    Melees have been way too good for too long despite having to worry less about uptime, bosses getting larger hit boxes, Ideally comps should be 1 Melee, 1 caster, 1 phys ranged and 1 flexible, Melees should generally be slightly higher then most DPS that aren't BLM but it should be far closer in general, jobs shouldn't be designed to be brought for the 1% buff.

    Honestly it feels like caster ranged should do more dps then melee at this point. Being able to attack the boss at a distance doesn't matter anymore since the devs changed how fights are designed now, you never have to leave the bosses hitbox ever in any mechanic. Being able to attack the boss while moving constantly to do mechanics is far more useful.

    Yes, starting with red mage. Black mage is really low on the totempole for any dps buffs given it is consistently competing with samurai (the "best adps" melee class) in rdps and ndps, whereas playing red mage was a massive no-no even during the fourth fight of the current tier during week 1. Melee should be removed from its undeserved high spots on adps unless fight designs change to warrant that -- I say that as someone who will continue playing only melee dps jobs in most content I care about, and also as someone who is not blind to the game's imabalance. I'd even go as far as to say that bard and machinist deserve a buff more than black mage does right now. But let us not pretend that this thread was anything other than something that came out of a massive disparity in skill between the OP (and a couple others) and the demographic I am talking about, or was about anything remotely resembling good faith conversation about the game's state of (im)balance.

    Although we know from OPs comments (referring to doing less dps than some other low dps classes) their motivation may seem questionable I would also say we don't know the content or situation from which their dps is being tracked which would make it hard for me to immediately call out a skill issue or a bad faith argument. Again I would say the raider types of the game should really just chill when people are asking questions and being open to feedback instead of needlessly antagonizing and being holier than thou.

    Also yes we keep being reminded other classes need buffs, but OP hasn't said otherwise and there are threads on those subjects too. No one is silencing bard or MCH. Summoner has a very active thread about making their incredibly popular class even higher damage dealing and more fun to play too.

    Everybody should do similar damage outputs, period. If a class is easier to grasp than another at basic entry level and provides the path of least resistance for prog environments, then it's a failure in design, although I'd still prefer that state of things to rdps discrepancies because you'll always have players playing the "harder" jobs anyway, even in smaller numbers.
