Agreed. It’s time that Square Enix close these forums for good. They serve to host comments or complaints about the game, and if we can only have one set of opinions, then discussion is no longer needed.

There are plenty of legitimate criticisms one could have about FFXIV but most of the doom and gloom posts you're seeing are from the same handful of people who only stay subbed to circle jerk about how much they hate the game. Just put them on ignore if it bothers you.

This. There is plenty of opportunity for critique, but most of the doomposting is from the same troupe of chronically disgruntled people always running on the same script.

What's going on with people? Why are so many of you acting like this game is 72 hours away from total collapse? Yeah I know it's a content lull, but think back to the huge content lulls in Shadowbringers. Remember when The Coof was making it so Yoshi P's team had to work from home? Huge long months between update patches? I don't think things right now are as bad as people say they are. Nothing in this game's development is ever going to be perfect.

So calm down, lighten up and stop worrying so much.

Numbers means nothing when this game has a free trial and there are 234923409 bots/RMT running rampant.

I didn't know the few sources we have counted trials and bots. Last I checked, some of them explicitly didn't include trial players, nor practically inactive players (achievement acquisition) and so on. Methinks you're too wound up in your own narrative.

So I just took a peek at the WoW forums and while the language is generally the same as over here. One thread in particular talked about theres a lack of content there.

So basically what you want is toxic positivity, people telling each other how good the game is doing and how amazing it is, alrighty then.

Also a lot of the complaints are absolutely valid, if you cant accept complaints about the game you play, perhaps you shouldnt be on the forums in the first place

This is also a common trope by the defenders of any criticism for this game.

Person: gives genuine complaint and criticism of ffxiv

Person 2: but similar thing in WoW is just as bad/worse


So? Both can be bad. Both FFXIV and WoW can similtaneously have a lack of content, or lack in a certain area/system within the game. Im not saying this is true about WoW as i dont play, it is simply just an observation
