You're putting words in someone's mouth, insisting they said something they didn't. You weren't doing that in a benign way. You weren't saying "It should definitely cease to amaze you that people with differing opinions aren't willing to change them for you" as a complement or neutral statement. Don't pretend you were.

The obvious reading is you are saying I'm trying to force people to comply with my position against their will. That's not a complement. And it's not a neutral statement (not least of all because I didn't even do it). So what is it? Well...insult would be the other option, wouldn't it?
Then to suggest I "feel victimized" by essentially making up insults when none are intended...when I'm replying to an intended insult.
MAYBE you somehow DON'T think that trying to force people to submit to one's will is an insult. MAYBE you think forcing people to bend to one's will is a laudable trait and were complementing me? Was that your intent? Were you saying that I CAN make people submit and that is a GOOD thing? Maybe you think me forcing people to comply is an alpha move and something to praise?
