I heard if you don't stand in the path of AoEs and mechanics, you're significantly less likely to be rescued by a healer.

Can confirm. I don't Rescue anybody unless they keep getting hit. It's either to save you from a mechanic...or I'm getting irritated enough at them to where I'm making sure that they only die because I wanted them to.
