Am i unintentionally poaching?

I am a fairly new FC leader. Almost 4 months and where the FC is now vs before is nothing short of a miracle. I run a lot of events and ask people on my friends list or do shouts to see if extra's want to participate. Recently my previous fc leader blocked me under the claims that I poached. One of his members left their fc to join mine. I did not actively try to recruit this person nor was I the one to invite them to fc. The old fc leader wants the person that joined and the one that invited to talk explain it to them in order to clear my name. I think that's a bit much and I told them it's not worth it and will slowly move on. that I have an open door policy when it comes to events as long as your respectful to other people you're welcome to come. Is this the wrong mentality to have?

I asked the person why did they switch, and the person explained that they have more fun over here, that it's active, and they've stuff with us and that the other place was dead.

If a player finds themselves more content with your FC than what they do with the FC of your former FC leader, then the only thing that has happened is the player had enough respect for themselves to go to a place where they enjoy.

Go about your day, and be proud in knowing you have fostered an environment that clearly other players enjoy.

I'd say you're fine. The person who joined your FC is free to choose their own path, they don't belong to anyone, especially their old FC leader who seems to be trying to cage them.

To be honest, with the mindset your previous FC leader took, its not surprising people didn't want to play in an environment with that person.

Sounds like the old FC leader in question has some insecurities. I would ignore them while they try to play the victim. Giving them the attention they crave will only make things worse for everyone involved.

exactly people are free to make their own choices and that includes which guild to join, its just a game and it is meant to be played for fun, you do not owe the old FC leader any explanation and neither does anyone else. if he wants to go around slandering your name thats his business which you can report him for.

i do not understand the guild loyalty mentality just because you join someones guild does not mean you belong to it nor does it mean you are forced to stay, the moment a FC stops becoming fun or does not align with your playstyle is when you should leave it and why people get upset over that thinking you've betrayed them is beyond me

There's no such thing as poaching, and what you did was a good thing.

This whole idea of poaching members is literally just some fake honor code meant to enable FCs to not have bother doing things to make their members happy while knowing that their members will have to look for a new home all over again, rather than naturally finding somewhere they enjoy through events and content.

Did you actively try to recruit them? If not, you didn't poach. Plain and simple.

It's the person's decision where he wants to go, is it not? If he would rather be in your FC, that's entirely up to him.
