Summoner or Dragoon

Hi y’all,
I’m returning to Ff14 but I want to start over to just sit back and relax/enjoy my self with this game but I’m still having trouble and need y’all’s advice. Before we start I know it is a choice I need to make but I’m having a hard time choosing between Summoner or Dragoon and I need some advice on how to make a logic choice. I don’t know if this matters but I’m play a goth Viera if it matters.

So Summoner, I love summoning big things to help me fight. I’m a maelstrom fan and a pirate/ninja fan. And believe it or not I used to have a in wow a demonolgist character who summoned a lot of spells and minions. And I do get a healer attach to summoner.

Dragoon are awesome to I’m a big fan of dragons. I love the armor set and design. I love the cool animations and colors. And yes I’m a fan of a certain character who starts with a e.

The other classes I want to unlock later are dark knight, reaper, dancer, samurai, ninja, and machinist.

What should I do any advice?

Really no advice to give honestly, summoner is classified as easier job and dragoon I hear it's pretty slow until you get into higher levels. Basically the best thing to say for you is try any job you want or them all. I have a friend that is slowly leveling every job at the same time almost she has a 40 summoner 40 dragoon 40 monk and 40 bard trying to see what she enjoys the best.

They really arent very comparable, since one is a melee and the other is a mage, but here are some tips:

Dragoon: melee, use positionals, have lot of gapclosers, have flashy jump attacks that are nice to see, early levels is sort of clunky but late levels is worth it

Summoner: ranged, cast spells, one of the only 2 dps that have resurrection (this is BIG), flashy animations with the eikon attacks, straightforward rotation

So in the end and considering the other classes you want play are dark knight, reaper, dancer, samurai, ninja, and machinist, I could suggest summoner since you lack a ranged magic dps while dragoon and reaper sort of fill the same role. But the decision is up to you.

I have both, but I have the most fun on the dragoon. Also a huge fan of that specific npc . Summoner gets boring after a time, at least for me it did. Hence why it's parked. Maybe I'll pick it back up, but for now, the dragoon gets all my attention...as soon as I have more time to play.

Really comes down to simple decisions.

Do you want ranged or melee?

Do you want super easy, or do you want one of the busiest openers in the game?

Personally, If you're not bothered by how simple summoner is then I'd suggest playing that to start out and trying other jobs down the road since you can level everything on one character.

Do you want to get bored out of your mind long before your job reaches lv80+? Then go Summoner.

Personally, I like to cosplay as Red Zorro with the Legionary Visor. Makes up for the inability to wear RDM's iconic hats.

You get the shrimpy chicken nuggets to summon and not the full big summons until level 90 outside of Bahamut/Phoenix, so personally I'd recommend Dragoon as it fulfills the job fantasy much better before level 90.
